    A Few Things Right, A Few Things Wrong

    I enjoy the half bottle of wines they offer. I requested my filet a MW and when it arrived it was completely raw, practically black and blue. The chef needs to pay more attention. Perhaps if the grill wasnt in the bar his job would be a bit easier. When I requested a vegetable instead of fries, I as told no, I could only have additional salad. Make sure when request your meat to cut into it when the waiter is still present at the table.

    Place to Impress

    Took my date here for dinner on a Sat night. Absolutely no wait at 630pm. Waitress was very friendly and not overpowering or imposing. Knowing my date she was picky about her food and yet she loved it. Kitchen accomodated her choices with the orders. Grilled Salmon was perfect creme brulee and mouse we cleaned the cup out. Went with the servers recommendation on the wine, it was right on. Bottom line we both loved the experience.

    really enjoyed my sunday night dinner here. The warm goat cheese appetizer was awesome and the burgers are juicy and delicious. The creme brulee was very good as well. All of this and split a half bottle of wine and spent about $30. The place is small, but was full on a sunday night. love that we could see all the meat being cooked. If i'm ever in the neighborhood again i would go back.

    Lost Vibe

    This place as become so ridiculously pretentious and for no reason. There are usually many empty tables however you are made to wait at the bar for no apparent reason. Once a neighborhood staple, it now caters to New Jersey-ites and other bridge and tunnel people who seem to want to be condescended to by the rude staff, which seems incredulous that you've actually been there before and didn't pull up in a cab. The food and the atmosphere used to be much better. This place has lost its vibe.

    Reasonably priced - good food

    I love this place. Their wine list is excellent. The half bottle wines almost guarantee no waste. The steak and fries are delicious. Best croque monsier I have had in the city.

    best spot in tribeca

    the portions are huge and not bad for the price. most portions are big enough to be shared between 2 people. they're very known for their steaks but their appetizers stand out as well. my fiance and i prefer their winter menu over their summer menu but they're both very good. the service is friendly but on occasion, they do slip up and you could be waiting a while for your bread and water. the creme brulee is their best dessert in my opinion but you cant beat the deal when it comes to taking one of each.

    Poor stemware

    My girlfriend and I had dinner here in September 2007, after hearing some good vibes about the place. Located on a great street in Tribeca, cozy upscale pub style decor, with a very cute bar in the back. The atmosphere was warm and the service was perfect - friendly, yet not overpowering, informative, yet not pushy. The food was very good for the price, which was moderate. The Friday night pasta special (Linguini con vongole) was good and the fried calamari was excellent, as was the bread (crusty and chewy). The restaurant touts an interesting wine list, which is only marked up slightly above retail for most of the bottles (about 20%). The only criticism is that for a restaurant that boasts a unique and affordable wine list, the stemware was extremely subpar - something you could get in a diner. Nor sure why the stemware is so poor, but it definitely prevented us from ordering certain wines. They should spend a little money and get some more appropriate stems for the different wine varietals.
