Land Thai Kitchen

Land has excellent Thai food at very reasonable prices. Their delivery is great, and is particularly important since the space is tiny so eating in isn't always an option. Regarding the comment below about needing to spend $10, I face this all of the time and find it a bit annoying (I have also offered to just pay the difference), but you can buy a soda for about $1 so you don't have to go too far over - the food is too good to pass up!

I really love the food from Land. I have no complaints about that (although I will second previous reviewer's comment about spice). However, I order delivery all the time. I like to get the noodle dishes...they cost $9.75, but minimum delivery is $10. You HAVE to order something else...and the cheapest thing on their menu is at least $3 (drink). I sucked it up and bought the drink once, but the next time this happened I cancelled my order. I offered to give them the extra quarter, but alas you have to PURCHASE something else. It's a shame that they will lose out on my dinner orders now because they feel the need to be greedy about a QUARTER. Very lame.

Land is one of my favorite Thai spots in the city (and I've tried many many places). The food is excellent, especially the satays and the skirt steak. In fact, I'd be bold enough to say that their skirt steak may be the best steak one can find for under $20 in all of NYC. I order it nearly every time I go and have never been disappointed. Their Thai Ice Tea is excellent as well, and my girlfriend (who's quite the seafood connesieur) loves the Red Snapper. The decor is attractive and the service is great. The only criticism I have for Land is that I wish it were bigger. The place fills up at night, especially Thursday through Sunday. Overall, this is one of the best spots on the UWS to get great food for a surprisingly reasonable price.

I live blocks from Land and order from there often. I’ve recommended it to friends, praising the flavorful dishes and affordable prices…..BUT (here it comes) I’ve ordered dishes before that have been soooo fiery hot that it’s almost impossible to eat. I even like spicy food. Make sure you ask for your dish to be prepared mild to medium, especially if you’re getting a dish “from the wok.” No matter what, the vegetable dumplings are a must….peanut buttery flavor explosion in your mouth!

I ordered the drunken noodles from here because I wanted to try the place out. It was just OK. The sauce was completely overwhelming it was like there was ketchup on the noodles and I couldn't taste any of the other flavors. I really wanted to like this place since it delivers, but it's just not that good.

It was a Saturday night and, like all good restaurants, my wifw and I had to wait to get a table. On the verge of flocking to another place we decided to be patient and wait, even though it was a windy night; it WAS WORTH IT. Appetizers were prepared with great detail and prepared our anxious palate for the forthcoming joy. The main courses where not over seasoned and had a rustic texture. At the end of the night the $40 bill was change compared to the great experience. The ambiance is very serene, with light music in the background, which is not noticed, unless there is that often silence in conversation due the joyful scream of your taste buds. The place has that great feel of a small downtown hidden gem. I will be visiting LAND again and the next time all bring my friends. Paul
