Land Thai Kitchen

I order from Land Thai on a regular basis (sometimes 2-3 times a week). Their service is always prompt and the food arrives hot. Most of the menu is very good - but the spice ratings are not consistent. The green curry (my favorite) is ranked as spicy as the black pepper calamari (which is also great - but much much spicier). I like the main courses much more than the appetizers. However, the lunch special which includes an appetizer and lunch portion main dish for $8 is a great value.

We just moved to the area and have eaten here 3 times in the last few weeks. The first time we ate in the restaurant, which I agree has a cool atmosphere but is really cramped. I found the service to be fast and efficient. Delivery is speedy (10 min!) and the food arrives hot. The delivery guys are also really nice. And I felt that the food was just as good delivered as eaten in the restaurant (which often isn't the case). Favorite dishes: Wok basil with beef/chicken, vegetable dumplings, crispy calamari. Try it, you won't be disappointed! (as long as you like spicy food).

Land has excellent Thai food at very reasonable prices. Their delivery is great, and is particularly important since the space is tiny so eating in isn't always an option. Regarding the comment below about needing to spend $10, I face this all of the time and find it a bit annoying (I have also offered to just pay the difference), but you can buy a soda for about $1 so you don't have to go too far over - the food is too good to pass up!

I really love the food from Land. I have no complaints about that (although I will second previous reviewer's comment about spice). However, I order delivery all the time. I like to get the noodle dishes...they cost $9.75, but minimum delivery is $10. You HAVE to order something else...and the cheapest thing on their menu is at least $3 (drink). I sucked it up and bought the drink once, but the next time this happened I cancelled my order. I offered to give them the extra quarter, but alas you have to PURCHASE something else. It's a shame that they will lose out on my dinner orders now because they feel the need to be greedy about a QUARTER. Very lame.

Land is one of my favorite Thai spots in the city (and I've tried many many places). The food is excellent, especially the satays and the skirt steak. In fact, I'd be bold enough to say that their skirt steak may be the best steak one can find for under $20 in all of NYC. I order it nearly every time I go and have never been disappointed. Their Thai Ice Tea is excellent as well, and my girlfriend (who's quite the seafood connesieur) loves the Red Snapper. The decor is attractive and the service is great. The only criticism I have for Land is that I wish it were bigger. The place fills up at night, especially Thursday through Sunday. Overall, this is one of the best spots on the UWS to get great food for a surprisingly reasonable price.

I live blocks from Land and order from there often. I’ve recommended it to friends, praising the flavorful dishes and affordable prices…..BUT (here it comes) I’ve ordered dishes before that have been soooo fiery hot that it’s almost impossible to eat. I even like spicy food. Make sure you ask for your dish to be prepared mild to medium, especially if you’re getting a dish “from the wok.” No matter what, the vegetable dumplings are a must….peanut buttery flavor explosion in your mouth!

I ordered the drunken noodles from here because I wanted to try the place out. It was just OK. The sauce was completely overwhelming it was like there was ketchup on the noodles and I couldn't taste any of the other flavors. I really wanted to like this place since it delivers, but it's just not that good.
