    Very good but pricey

Everything we ordered was very good - flavorful, fresh and light but satisfying (summer rolls w/peanut sauce were excellent) but like many restaurants on this site, the prices were higher than listed. Two appetizers, 1 entrée & 1 side dish (all fairly small portions) came to over $35. I will definitely order from here again – it’s better quality than many places, but it’s not “cheap eats.”

    Excellent Veggie Vietnamese

Grew up in southern Calif and the food here is pretty close to true Vietnamese for vegetarians. Staff are really nice, though quiet. The only thing that wasn't great were the vermicelli noodles. They were way overcooked and too soft.

    Can't stop eating here

The decor at this hole-in-the-wall is poor and don't for a second think it will look anything like gobo or candle 79 or anything remotely stylish, but when the food hits your mouth it really won't make a difference! My faves: 1. The Pho is fantastic. The broth is a little sweet, I love the sauces and fresh herbs that come with it. It's such a clean and fresh dish! 2. Meatball baguette. The bread is super crunchy on the outside, and very soft and moist on the inside. 3. Lemongrass Seitan on thin rice vermicelli. It looks a little weird when it comes out, but it's delish 4. Eggplant Stew with tofu and some yummy caramel goodness 5. Papaya and shrimp salad- fresh and light and unique, super spicy!!! Ask for a little milder if you prefer... 6. Rice Crepe with ham and black mushroom- very flavorful- similar to Chinese stuffed rice roll.. The not so faves: 1. Curry tofu and potato soup- Too salty, wasn't soupy/brothy- tasted like something that should be put over rice. Maybe I just expected something different... 2. Vietnamese Pancake tofu- kind of like an omelette, it's not bad at all, it's just not as flavorful as other dishes Overall, the food is great, it won't leave you feeling disgusting and full.... everything is very fresh and consistent, and i've never been so happy to find out they deliver to my house. I look forward to eating their food every single time!

Among top 3 restaurants in NY

This is the best food I've had in NY. I've lived here for 8+ years and have tried pretty much every veg place (and tons of non-veg) places and this is among my top 3 places to eat. The food is EXCELLENT. This is not a high end ambience place, so don't come if you are looking for high dining, but if you want the best food in NY, this is the spot.

Delicious, good value, will be back

Cute hole in the wall tucked in between the army of Indian restaurants on the block, very snug, unpretentious atmosphere. All the food is vegetarian which is always a plus for me off the bat. The waiter (and I assume owner) was incredibly mellow and friendly enough. We ordered the Tofu Pancake and Stewed Eggplant with seitan. The Tofu Pancake was more like an omelet stuffed with vegetables than a pancake. Very delicious especially with hot sauce and great for sharing with another person. The Stewed Eggplant dish was also very good, it was stewed in a very flavorful sauce that I didn't recognize. Would definitely come back again and try out some of the other dishes. If I wasn't newly unemployed, I would have ordered a lot more! I only wish the portions were a little larger, but the food's not overpriced so it's not a big deal.

    Yummy!

Yes, the service here is very, very, very slow. But it was worth the wait. I had the seitan lemongrass curry. When the waiter brought it out, it was sizzling and so fragrant. My friend had the pho. He enjoyed it, although I thought that the broth was slightly sweet when I tasted it. I would definitely come back again to try out other items on the menu.
