    No thanks

Most of the pasta plates they serve have the same tomato sauce. I mean pasta with marinara sause , arabiata , putanesca , sausage, eggplant rolotini , stuffed mushrooms, chicken parmigiana , calamari and who knows how many other plates......(i speak only for those i,d taste) they put on that same sauce........ nothing tastes different.

    Great find!

I went to Lamarca on a whim the other day. It was absolutely delicious, and I will definitely be returning. The man who helped us was so friendly and accomodating. After my mother and I studied the menu for 10 minutes, we still couldn't decide on what we wanted. The man asked us what our favorite ingredients were, and put together two off-the-menu dishes for us. My mother got fresh fettucini with a cream sauce, shrimp, zucchini, and peas. One of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. Pasta was perfectly cooked, and the cream sauce was not heavy at all, yet very flavorful. I got an orrechiette sauteed with fennel sausage, garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Simple and comforting. Check this place out if you want a personal, friendly, and delicious dining experience.

    Delish pasta

This is my favorite pasta place in Manhattan. For the money you spend, it's a great deal. Their pastas are amazing-- I've had almost all their express pastas (your choice of sauce and pasta) and my favorites are the aurora and the pesto. Sitdown restaurant also a great deal-- less than $15 and you get salad, pasta, and bread (atlhoguh youll be so full, the bread is overdoing it). My favorite part of the express area is the atmopshere.. it's a cozy place, maybe 6 tables. but the music is great, and the people are very nice. Great place that locals know about, and now you can too.

    Fresh and delicious!

This is a really great place to go for excellent and inexpensive Italian fare. I ordered the daily special and wow! The pesto sauce is amazing. They give you great deals in the restaurant for lunch - for $10 you get fresh salad, great bread, and a filling bowl of pasta. I don't think my words can do justice for this place - you've just gotta check it out! I even went to the cafe next door to try some lentil soup for dinner tonight. Definitely coming back to try the other dishes!

    I want their recipe!

I've only been to Lamarca's for lunch (many times), but I can tell you that this place produces great pasta on a daily basis. It's their red sauce which I think makes their food a special treat (I need this recipe!) Pasta is always done to perfection, for a place that hot-dips precooked pasta (which is common practice in most places). A good variety of pasta, with regularly-scheduled weekday specials. A must try!

    Annual Marathon Pasta Dinner

We consider Joe LaMarca's our secret restaurant in NYC. 2005 will be our 15th return to his hospitalitality and great menu. The wine is special and the mineral water excellent. Our annual NYCM racing team has varied over the years from 28 to 104. One year we had to do it in shifts! ALARC is the largest marathon running club in the U.S. and headquartered in Minnesota, God's country. Thank you Joe. Please compliment your staff on their service.
