    Groupon fail

We went here with the $35 groupon for 2, expecting to get the surf and turf filet and lobster tail (as advertised through the picture and information via Groupon). We were told "I think we're out of the lobster," and upon asking for confirmation, we were told, "yes we're out." After switching up our meals, my date got the Linguini Marinara with seafood of shrimp, scallops, mussels, and clams. Shockingly, there were only shrimp and scallops in the dish, and no marinara sauce. After speaking with the table next to us, who also used a groupon and was told the restaurant is out of lobster, that woman asked for the manager and was told within minutes that a fresh order of lobster had just arrived. They, like us, were seated at 8pm on a Saturday night in manhattan. Clearly, this restaurant did groupon to get people in the door. Decent food, yet deceptive practices that makes people not want to return. The best part of this experience was the conversation with our neighbor table, officially confirming what we already assumed to be true.

    Don't Eat Here

This is by FAR the poorest place i have ever ever ate in. I cannot even believe they have positive reviews. Maybe if you are homeless and they give you the food for free i would really understand this. For appetizer we had shrimp w/ tomatoes and cheese, which smelled off. Second appetizer was a Greek salad with romaine and spinach, a quarter of a tomato, total price $25. For Entree i got the lobster tail with fillet Mignon and my wife got shrimp with rice and vegetables($25 , which was pretty much my appetizer($16) + rice on the side) fillet was full of fat and completely super well done( i ordered medium)and it came with plastic cap with ketchup that was sitting on top of the steak, french fries and celery, dry lobster tail with butter($35). Lastly the desert. tiramisu ($7x 2) + lipton tea $8. One would think at this point how is it possible to really mess up tiramisu. It looked ok when it got to the table . But then you take a bite of it and it's SALTY! Total BILL $134. BTW18% gratuity is included, what a surprise.

    Pleasantly surprised

I came here last Wednesday for dinner with a friend. We were welcomed with a smile, and given a table without having to wait. The waitress was polite and charming, the wine and food - mousaka and lamb chops - tasted just fine. The atmosphere was different. People were dancing tango on the dance floor. Interesting. All in all a pleasant evening, and definitely worth revisiting.

    Nice Lamb cops

I love greek food, I love any kind of mediterreanean food. My dishe was great, my sister orders a moussaka, she regretted it because she ate from mine, I had a Kebab made of Lamb chuncks, It was great. I would recommend this place for anyone who like greek food.

I actually liked the place very much. The food was ok, not that bad. Offcourse I went there 2 months ago so I dont know how its turned out lately. My friend will be in town next week and I'm thinking of taking him to show him a Tango show and some greek food

    This place is ridiculous

My wife and I went here the other night. First we called earlier in the day to make sure they were open and not closed for a private party. When we got there there was a small party going on and we thought it wasn't that big of a deal. Later it turned into a huge party and we had people bumping into our table talking to people, taking pictures, etc. It took us 2 hours from sitting down to getting a check. Our order got messed up multiple times. The prices here are ridiculous for the atmosphere and location and even just the quality of the food. They are twice as expensive as they should be. Then there were belly dancers who wanted us to donate $5 to some charity. We told them we were not interested and they got pushy with us. It seems its not really a donation but must be how they make money. I cannot believe this place and will never go back there again. It was one of the worst experiences I have had. I felt like I was in some hidden camera setup. Very odd!

    Old reliable

I work in the immediate neighborhood and the Lafayette Grill is the place we all flock to for a lunch time or after work party. The menu is simple, the food is good, not overly complicated and the price is right. After hours the place takes on a more sophisticated and adventurous atmosphere, what with Tango lessons, live bands and singers. I wouldn't go here for lunch, however, were I not working in the area. Too much work talk, too crowded. Every other table has a judge or lawyer at it.
