The best cakes in the city, but poor service
This place has the best cakes in the city. I love each one of the cakes and they are all delicious. Not too sweet. Great quality. Very detail oriented cake decoration. The staff needs to improve their service. They are not friendly either. Unless they have intention to being snobbish, this is unfortunate.

De-lish!
I just had to comment in favor of the signature crepe cake. It is absolutely delicious. All of its many delicate layers with cream in between sounds heavy and overly sweet. In actuality the cake is feather light without an overly sweet taste like many other places have. Great job Lady M! I will be back for that cake.

Ladies who lunch and Gossip Girls
Lady M has good cakes, a small space, high prices, a lots of white. This is the kind of desert place favored by women of the UES whether they are teenage gossip girls or their mothers (the ladies who lunch). The signature crepe cake is tasteless but the other cakes are good, if money is no object.

Not Very Nice Staff on the Phone
The staff that I spoke to on the phone was not nice. I was simply inquiring about a cake order and she sounded bitter and bored. I told her that I will call back tomorrow to finalize my order and she just hung up on me- no bye, no thank you, nothing. Maybe she had a bad Valentine's Day, poor thing...

Love it!
I LOVE this place. The service is friendly, helpful and patient as it can be overwhelming when deciding which dessert you will indulge in. Everything is fresh and tastes amazing. They do have other things to eat for a light lunch. You won't be disappointed. Life is short, just walk in and have fun.

Beware the added 18% Gratuity
Lady M makes a very good crepe cake. The coffee is good too. However, if you decide to dine in the tight confines of the store, beware their added 18% gratuity. They pull a fast one on many a customer when they add in the 18% gratuity on parties of any size and then give you a receipt with a line for tip. Many people wind up tipping twice.

Oh so delish
This bakery is wonderful and unique, at least, for New York. I absolutely love the delicate 30-crepe layer cakes in green tea flavor or vanilla and their other confections are oo so good also. While traveling in Japan, and waiting for a train at a remote train station, we stopped to have a cup of coffee at a chain coffee and tea shop. There my friend spied the same cake that apparently you can buy at any one of these Japanese versions of Starbucks. It cost around $2.50 for what Lady M charges $7.00 a slice. It was very good, same labor intensive creation, but not quite as fresh. I think because they are made commercially in Japan and available all over. The Lady M Bakery has great quality control and I think this is the only location. It is a bargain compared what a trip to Japan costs, so go and enjoy!
