La Villa Restaurant

The previous reviewer and I have something in common - quest for best pizza in Bk. I've only eaten the grandma's pizza with pepperoni at La Villa, but that alone is fantastic! Perfectly salted thick crust, easy on the sauce, plenty of quality cheese and toppings. That's all I need. I've also had their penne a la vodka - WOW. and WOW. And I usually hate ceaser salad but this is the only ceaser salad I've had that I licked the plate clean.

My gf and I are on a quest to have the best pizza in brooklyn. I can say with sincerity La Villa does not have it. The margherita pizza greasy flat bread, flavorless tomato sauce, and bland mozzarella cheese. I gave it 3.0 for food because the potato croquettes were really good and worth mentioning. Maybe I should have had the pasta. Anyway if pizza is what you're looking for try Pizza Roma's fresh moz. Its counter pizza and there isn't a wait like grimaldis.

We have only gotten delivery but every single thing is DELICIOUS! Honestly, one of the best Italian places around.

I really like this restaurant. The sauce is very tasty and the cheeses are excellent. I must say, the bread they give you before the meal is amazing!! The staff is very, very friendly, the atmosphere is inviting, the place is clean, and you can always catch a glimpse of the game on the television, which hangs silently over the open kitchen. I am a pizza freak and so I don't take reviews of pizza lightly. In my opinion this is one of the very best Sicilian slices in NYC. Their oven is fantastic!! I don't dislike the regular pie, but if you do want pizza, opt for the Sicilian - you will NOT be disappointed. However, know this: the pizza is not cheap. It will cost over $20 for a full pie. It's not terribly overpriced, but just not cheap. Also, they often have specials - if they offer the lentil soup definitely go for it.

La Villa is our go-to place for excellent Italian food and a great family atmosphere. When we order out we mostly get the pizza and it is easily the best in the neighborhood. Eating in is fun and the menu is full of tasty dishes made with very fresh ingredients. We eat in, or order out, at least once a week. It is not the cheapest option, but an excellent one.

I went here on a Saturday night at 8pm and had to wait only about 10 minutes for a table for 2. The sizzling hot, crisp at the bottom onion bread that comes out (on the house) is irresistable. The wine selection is moderately priced & has some great reds that go well with the food. We ordered a special appetizer of fresh mozzarella with sauteed mushroom bruschetta which was fresh, melty, buttery & wonderful. I followed up with the papardelle bolognese. They use fresh pasta, which is melt in your mouth, and the bolognese isn't too heavy or laden with cream... just meaty enough to provide texture to the flat ribbons of papardelle. My only 2 complaints (SLIGHT) are that the atmosphere is pizzeria-ish, not intimate enough for a romantic date being that it is bright & a moderate noise level. Secondly, the dessert, we ordered the chocolate tart, came out as cold as it was in the freezer case and the crust was compromised...however, the taste was great. The only area for improvement would probably be touching their dessert slices with a little bit of heat before serving so you don't get that gummy texture, but otherwise the pasta here is fabulous & highly reccomended. I will come back here and try more.
