Just ordered the gnocchi - it fell apart, and the 4 cheese sauce was too much. Quick delivery, but the food was not worth it.

La Vela is a delicious and inviting restaurant with very good service. The space is cozy and comfortable, plus the sidewalk tables are a treat in nice weather. My favorites are the beet salad, shrimp w/ white beans, and the little neck clams in a white wine/cherry tomato sauce - so good with the bread. Nice, reasonable wine list. The staff are gracious and welcoming, but never on top of you. Good for a date or a group.

My husband and I dined at La Vela last Saturday. It was a very cold evening and the restaurant's classic, old-world Italian decor was wonderfully cozy. The food was excellent and truly a great value. We both had salads as appetizers (Caesar and caprese), both of which were excellent, and we each had a pasta dish from the fresh pasta category. The sauces were delicious with really nuanced flavors and the pasta was wonderfully tender. We highly recommend it!

Happened to walk by and saw the place was full of people...usually a good sign. It was. Though the place was noisy, we very much enjoyed a creative Italian menu with a broad selection of fresh and dry pasta dishes. An appetizer, scallops enrobed with proscuitto in a todiefor wine sauce, definitely ensured my husband and I will make a repeat visit. La Vela is definitely family friendly (avoid 5-7 pm if you want an atmosphere more amenable to conversation) and a good value. Try it... you'll like it....mangia!

Just happened to find this great place by chance and so glad we did. We had two childred with us under 3 and they could not be more helpful. The food was delicious and the service was very good. They made us feel comfortable and at home. Still talking about our meals and how good they were. Will definitely go back.

Great menu...Wonderful veal scallopine, veggies and spaghetti for lunch...my waitress was friendly, but committed one lapse in service, forgetting my order spaghetti...big portions...I was with a step-niece and her son, a 3 1/2 year old...the toddler had chicken and it was superb...delicious noodles...bistro-like place, which I always enjoy...worth another visit.

The service at this restaurant is poor. They screwed up multiple orders and refused to redeliver. They sent one wrong item and then another item that wasn't even made right. And then they refused to send us new ones. When we asked them to resend the orders they got wrong they got belligerent and hung up on us. In all my years of ordering food I have never been treated like that.
