I order frequently from La Vela. The service is great and the food is always fresh and well prepared. Because of the din it is easier to order online. This is a popular crowded place!

First of all, the prices in the restaurant are signifigantly higher then their online menu. When I brought this to the manager's attention, she was rude, claiming it wasn't her fault. Additionally, the food was extremely average, reminding me of a swanson frozen food chicken dinner, and the tomato sauce wasn't nearly up to par.

I have been coming to La Vela for about five years. Many establishments, especially as of late in this economy, have slipped...the quality of food and service have declined. Not La Vela. If anything, the food has gotten better (and that is hard to do) and the arms extended, family-like atmosphere, brings us back over and over. Everyone has had to cut their spending so when we do go out, we know La Vela will deliver. I adore this place and all the people who make it their priority to give us a great night out.

I went to this nice restaurant last week and I love the decor of an oldfashioned italian restaurant with the red and white checkered tablecloth and the brick walls. The food was excellent. i had the fillet of sole woith cashews on top and it was the best I ever tasted. My mom had the shark meat and there was plenty. The first waitress was cordial but not overly friendly. This is the first time I have ever been to a restaurant where they changed waitress in the middle of our meal. The second waitress was very friendly and attentive. i will come back again.

this restaurant has two things going for it... good food and good service. i ordered a chicken dish, she ordered a veal dish. both were very tasty. i would have stayed for desert, but i had Crumbs on my mind.

The food is excellent. The people are warm and the service is just right. I have been eating at LaVela for many years and it never disappoints. My guests from out-of-town rave about it and recommend it to their friends. You really cannot go wrong here.

I've been dining regularly at La Vela since before it was La Vela. The staff is always warm and welcoming and the food is good. Sometimes specatuclar. Try the gnocchi! This isn't exotic dining or a "scene"; it's a wonderful neighborhood gem that I continue to go to sometimes twice in a week.
