Love this place!
Thank god I have this place nearby! Great baguettes and croissants! Just like in Paris but w/out the attitude.

This place rocks
We are sooo happy to have a great bakery within walking distance. As newcomers to the neighborhood this was a gem of a find. Coffee pasteries and breads are always fresh and the service no nonsense and quick. Hope they do very well as we will be long time customers. The Pond Family

Really great " hole in the wall" type place
ive only been there once but i'm sure i'll be going here for as long as i'm around the neighborhood. the prices were great and i wish i had tried some of the baked goods but i was eyeing a fruit tart that someone else quickly snatched up, and then a few minutes later before they had even left with the fruit tart someone was asking if they had more (which they didn't) ny needs more places like these. we had two turkey sandwiches which were delicious, and really liked their choice of drinks. the strawberry parfait was heavenly. definitely will come back for more, the guy serving was really nice.

Great Napoleon's
I do not usually like Napoleon's but I had one today from here, (it was brought for me by my coworker) and It was so good that I actually scraped the little doilie for more custard. The presentation was great as well as the packaging. I made me look this place up online and to my surprise so many other people are already raving about it....Yum!

Keeping this place all to myself!
Is is fair to give a place a bad rating just to keep it all to yourself? Perhaps that's how Standard & Poor's, or Moody's operate ethically, so I suppose I'll have to be truthful. La Tropezienne is a true oasis in this neighborhood, and has made our transition from the Upper East Side (where good food is plentiful) to East Harlem more pleasant. Truth be told, I don't often eat the pastries, but rather the salads and sandwiches there. We have bought a fruit tart pie to bring as a gift, which was delicious. You can easily walk by it on the street without even realizing it's there. How they remain so popular and busy without proper signage is a testament to thier great food and loyal customer base.

Yum!
This bakery is excellent. I have been coming here for two years now for freshly baked croissants and whole wheat baguettes and have never been disappointed. Recently I got croissants from Zabar's and they were FAR inferior to those at La Tropezienneand more expensive too. The pastries and cakes are lovely, fresh, and delicious, the selection is extensive and well-priced, and they have these beautiful little cookies in all sorts of animal shapes/colors that would delight any child. Plus the staff is friendly and pleasant, as are the happy customers inside! I am so pleased to have this gem only a few blocks away from home in East Harlem.
