Food quality has been sliding slowly but surely

Been customer of Traviata since 1999, my company used to order lunch and dinner there when we worked through lunch or late or weekends. The quality of food was always great, but since lately, maybe in the past couple of years, it has not been the same. Today I got our usual dish Linguine Antonio and pasta smelled and tasted funny, like it was made with clam sauce instead of usual scampi sauce which is wine based. Did not taste like usual dish at all. I make better shrimp scampi than they do. Very disappointing. For $15 it was weird tasting pasta and few lonely shrimp. Pasta must have been like a pound of it.

    Basic Italian take-out

This is our go-to for Italian take-out - they do all of the basics perfectly fine. It's nothing special, but we've never been disappointed either.

    Great eatery

My partner and I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed! We're planning to go back the end of Jan 2011 while we are on our getaway weekend. Food is excellent and not expensive. The service is usually good unless they are packed and then its a bit slower. I would definitely recommend this jewel in the heart of Brooklyn Heights!

I wish they had large pies

My wife and I have been going here for over 20 years. They used to be one block to the west and named Lenny's Clam Bar. The last few times we have gone, we ate outside on the sidewalk and had their personal pizza/salad/glass of wine special for $10. Their pizza is the best on Montague Street! It was so relaxing--a sunny day, tasty pizza, and interesing people walking by This place used to sell large pies and slices, but no more. I just can't understand it. It seems that they would make more money. I would recommend the place.

    Horrid

The food was terrible. It was microwaved - cold in spots burning hot in others. Not very flaverful. When they say "crabmeat" they mean imitation crab. The service was ok - the waitress nice enough. Would not recommend...
