The best bakery on the Upper West Side
Finally a real French bakery on the Upper West side. Everything is delicious! The sandwiches are also excellent.

Love the place !
I am French and I love their croissant, bread, pain Au chocolat ! Staff is much more friendly than other places and not as pretentious. Love it. Feels like being back home !

Wonderful local bakery
Delicious pastries: croissants (regular, whole-wheat, almond, chocolate), sticky buns, Napoleons, eclairs, tarts, Opera cake. Croissants can sometimes be a little greasy, but you can usually tell by looking. Good coffee and pre-made sandwiches. Bread is only OK. Decor is bare-bones but the ambiance is warm & cozy. Friendly owner/baker, good service, fair prices.

Bonne Chance
Yes, a real French bakery. There croissants are crispy, coffee delicious and bread fresh. I am overjoyed to go have my morning croissant and coffee. Price is very fair as well and the staff is nice. SO much better than the Silver Moon and their snotty staff and overpriced food.

Greatest Birthday Cake Ever
special ordered a birthday cake for my mom's 80th. I stopped by to discuss what I was looking for and take recommendations. Two days later I picked up a French style strawberry shortcake that my mom adored, as did everyone at the table. Declicious and beautiful. Very special, and so reasonably priced. Thank you for making a special occasion that much more special.

Just the scents tell you you're in la France
The minute I first walked in the door I knew it was true: Paris [or Toulouse] had arrived in New York City. I could be happy just sitting and sniffing, but of course, the pastries: divine. The prices? divine. The ambiance? divine. Don't miss it--or, maybe miss it so it can remain a well-kept secret for the construction workers and neighbors of all sorts who come in and smile. And taste--France.

Finally, an uptown patisserie
I am a French food snob and am often disappointed with NYC French restaurants and bakeries. I was happily surprised to find La Toulousaine to have croissants and pain au chocolates that rival the patisseries en France. I am very excited about this new addition to the neighborhood and will certainly be back. C'est formidable.
