Great Restaurant
Had dinner last night 2/27/11 with friends to celebrate 2 birthdays. The restaurant is beautiful. The food was fabulous. We each had different appetizers, entrees & desserts. All were great. The service was impeccable. The staff was warm & friendly. This restaurant is a sure winner.

Fabulous new French Gem in Clinton/Hells Kitchen
I just dined here on Jan 18th, the second day they were open. I was nervous because restaurants usually take a few weeks to get everything in order. But La Silhouette has their stuff together right now!! My dining companion and I had the foie gras torchon, seared diver scallops, escargot risotto, braised monkfish and veal cheek blanquette. The foie transported me back to the first time I had ever had it in France and I nearly melted in my chair. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the caramelized endives were a tasty surprise. The risotto is La Silhouette's signature dish and rightfully so! The rice was cooked to perfection, it was salty with a hint of garlic and not at all heavy. The monkfish was creamy and flaky at the same time and the veal cheeks practically melted in my mouth. We finished our meal with a trio of desserts. Beignets with salted caramel ice cream, earl grey infused creme brulee with lemon sorbet and cheesecake with a coconut glaze. The beignets were the star of dessert. Small morsels of deep-fried heaven with a triple cream sauce in a hazelnut ganache. The creme brulee was creamy and luscious but if it didn't have the earl grey, you wouldn't miss it because it was so subtle. The cheese case was light and fluffy as a cloud. Which personally I wasn't expecting since I prefer the thick and dense NYC styled cheesecase. But the flavor was perfection. La Silhouette is a shining new gem in the neighborhood and I plan on going back many many times and bringing as many new people as I can. If you live in the neighborhood or even if you don't, you need to come here. It's fine dining without being stuffy or pretentious. We need more restaurants like this! Thank you to everyone at La Silhouette!!
