Nice surprise
After being offered a poor table at a restaurant on this street we stopped here. The food was great, excellent service - so friendly. we had a terrific experience and will be going back.

The worst on Restaurant Row
We were a family of seven adults who dined on 4/24/10 at La Rivista. Four family members had the shrimp, scallops risotto. The shrimp were overcooked and the scallops were so tiny you could hardly find them among the risotto. The 3 other diners said their food was ok. The service terrible. Our waiter was horrible, wish we had his name. He never asked if we needed anything. Reached across the table with food and drinks. Waited half an hour for a second round of drinks . Waited another 30 min. for dessert and coffee. As if we were not tortured enough, the coffee server spilled coffee on our daughters chair. He slapped a napkin on the seat and that was that. Never came with more coffee. We have eaten at several other restarants on restaurant row and always had quality food and waiter staff who cared about their guests. This is one restaurant my family will not be returning to.

Great Place For a date
The Food is awsome here good service and resonable prices for Times Square Saturday at 8 is best time to go it goes from a theather crowd it can be a little loud but then it becomes romantic at 8 on weekends with a Piano player and candelight.

dinner after Phantom - Anniversary
The restaurant is very nice and the service is excellent....did not rush us at all.....ck'g on us periodicaly.....food was very good and the price was normal for a meal in NYC........bob apetito! Enjoy....you won't regret it.....

absolutely perfect
knew we were goin to eat somewhere on restaurant row, and read great reviews about this place.. well thank you everyone before me, because you were right.. the food was absolutely amazing (i had tortellini in butter to start, and pollo bolognese -- and let me tell you it was soo delicious).. wasnt crowded at all, especially on a friday night.. the timing of each course was superb.. the atmosphere just so romantic with the piano player -- he played the most beautiful pieces with a couple holiday tunes thrown in.. cannot wait to go back there!!

Must Try
The interior is small so you will be well aware of the loud talking from the patrons. Aside from this, make an effort to go there. The food is great. I had the monkfish, clams and mussel special in a spicy tomato sauce. My wife had the veal and asparagus dish. The portions were generous. The service was excellent.
