Someone told me this was one of the best spots for good Italian in Brooklyn so I decided to give it a try. Not only was there a wide selection of Italian wines but of genuine food as well all freshly prepared. My boyfriend and I ordered wine and an antipasti that came out so quickly we were shocked. As soon as we were done the table was clean and in moments our entrees came. Even dessert came out fast but we didn't feel rushed. The whole staff was friendly and so efficient it felt like we were the only customers there though the place was packed and everyone got equal service. Our bill was so much less than we expected for how good the food was. It was a wonderful experience and the atmosphere was so nice and relaxing it's hard not to go back every night.

I ate here the other night, was invited by a friend who had been twice. Loved it, I am Italian and a foodie, thought the food and service was really good. Will go back!

La Piazzetta was highly recommended by close friends and thank God for that. Since my 1st experience there it has been great. The portions are very generous and extremely flavorful. LOVE the pastas. Recently had some pasta with artichokes & pesto. Deeelisshh!! You definitely get your moneys worth. Its a must try!

The most unique gnocchi I have ever experienced, and I have experienced a lot of gnocchi! I asked the waiter about them and he sent over one of the owners who told me it was a family recipe that has been passed down through the years. How very Italian of them! He then offered me a glance into their kitchen to see where it all happens. It is amazing how such a small kitchen can produce such delicious and timely food. Definitely recommending La Piazzetta to my friends.

My family and I recently had a wonderful dinner there. But we liked the singer coming to our table to engage us in Italian songs. Very refreshing atmosphere.

Food and service here leaves a lot to be desired. No place that deems themselves authentic Italian should serve what tastes like frozen entrees. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

What can I say? The service was terrible. I am usually pretty laid back about these things, but it was bad enough for me to go home, go online (nerd out), and write a review in order to save other people the aggrevation. The root of the problem is the server completely neglected us once our food arrived. Attempting to flag him down for the check took literally 45 minutes to an hour after we finished eating. After acknowledging us and telling us he would bring it, he left us alone for another 45+ minutes (not exaggerating). We continually tried to remind him, but he spent the majority of the time talking with a table he must have known. I seriously think we were neglected because it was just my girlfriend and myself, and not a robust table of a family of eaters. It was such a long time that we contemplated leaving multiple times, but our lack of desire to create a scene prevented us. And I don't know what was occupying his attention so much, it was still relatively early in the dinner rush and there weren't many tables there. In fact, him and about 5 other servers sat down at the table next to us, ate their own dinners and generally shot the shit for the length of our meal. The food itself was okay, but the century that passed afterwards left a bitter taste. Trust me, unless your Mom and Dad are in town and you want to kill a ton of time, or you are having trouble thinking of fullday activities since you and the misses had twins, I recommend going somewhere else.
