I just went to La Paella with a big group. We ordered lots of tapas and 2 large orders of paella. Everything was delicious. Hands down the best paella in the city!! The food was as good and authentic as the food I had in Spain.

Food was excellent. Went with a friend and we had the early bird special (between 5 - 7) which was a good value. The special includes 2 tapas (or one entree), appetizer, sangria, & ice cream for $18. There was only one seafood tapas choice which they were out of and the waiter refused to substitute a different seafood choice, even one that was listed at a lower price on the regular menu. He acted like I was ridiculous to request such a thing. (I think a restaurant should offer a substitute when they are out of something.) So, I ordered a chicken choice which on the main menu said it came with rice. The waiter even pointed to this description on the menu when I asked about it. When the chicken came, there was no rice. When I questioned the waiter, he unapologetically explained that the early bird one does not come with rice. I told him this should be explained on the menu or he should've mentioned it when he was pointing to it. Besides the deceptive menu and the waiter who couldn't care less his customer was disappointed, the food was really excellent & the sangria wonderful. If you go, enjoy the food, just don't expect to get what you ordered or your server to care. The early bird really is a great deal, especially since you won't feel obligated to leave a big tip.

I went out with co-workers after a concert one Friday night and was amazed by this place! The food was good, the sangria was good (too good, actually) and the atmosphere was awesome! The service was "so-so" but I guess you win some, you lose some. I would definately go back and recommend that others go here!

I booked my birthday party well in advance for a Saturday night for 13 people. I had been here before and loved the food and sangira. On that Saturday ( at around 3p, dinner was at 8pm) I received a call saying that they could only sit 11 of my party not 13. Thankfully 2 were coming later, but they had to squeeze in to sit. Being that I had a wonderful experience during my prior visits, I expected the same. However, the food was great, but the service was poor. We were rushed through our entire meal, the check was placed on the table while we were finishing desert, with the comment, we have other partys waiting. The last straw was we were told by the hostess numerous times if we could finish. When I informed her we still had a pitcher of sangria left, my party was told that we could finish it upstairs by the bar, which was already crowded with people waiting for tables. Bottom line, expect to be rushed even with a reservation and party. Too bad, the food was great.

The food was unbelievable. Very well priced for good size portions, and the service was friendly and fast. Highly recommend the pan con tomate, and salmon wrapped asparagus. This was one of the best meals in NYC I've had in a really long time. Great food for a reasonable price. AND, the rustic decor provided a great ambiance. Good date place although a little noisy on a Saturday night. Also good for groups. Que rico!

I went here on a date. the atmosphere is very nice, although a bit cramped. the sangria is excellent - lots of fruit. we also ordered fried calamari, and shared the paella. the calamari was great. the paella was very good, although perhaps a bit dry. the food/drinks were a bit on the pricey side, but that's to be expected. i would definitely return to la paella, but next time i'd probably just get a bunch of tapas to share.
