We just love this place...
Whether we drop in for a bite, order delivery, or take the entire place over for a birthday dinner for 22 as we did recently, La Lucha delivers fresh, inventive and fun Mexican food at a value that can't really be matched. There is still great, fun affordable dining in NYC!!

Smack Down Awsome
This Mexican wrestling themed place has me cheering for more. Just recently opened for lunch so glad it has more regular hours. Grilled cebollas with a soy cilatro sauce is a delightful twist on how we did them at home with just salt and lime. Black bean and plantain taquitos exquisite. Corn on the cob with chipotle mayo and queso fresco made me proud to be Mexican. The Horchata refreshing, you can taste the rice, vanilla, and cinnamon, not just sugar water here. This place is now one of my favorite Mexican places.

never open
they got cojones to run a restaurant that is never open. Suppose it could be good when it is open but who knows?

Lo MAXIMO! (The Best!)
I am from Mexico City and am so happy to finally have a restaurant to go to that is really authentic! The food brought me back home!

Good food, but small & over priced.
The food here is actually very delicious but I found the portions to be small and over priced. The atmosphere is also great, just like what you would expect with a name like La Lucha but even with great tasting food and a fun atmosphere I would not go back as the portions are very disappointing and misleading. I recommend asking the server about the portion sizes before you order.

this place is never open!
The food here was really great the 1 and only time I walked by and they were actually open. I have since excitedly tried to go no less than 6 times and they have been closed everytime. They seem only to be open for very limited dinner-only hours: SO FRUSTRATING!! East Villagers don't live like that. I don't know how they'll be able to compete with so many Mexican places in the area if they are never open. I say this with disappointment as it was the best mexican food I have tried in the area.
