I ate there a few evenings ago and loved it. The food is well prepared and the service was very good. The atmosphere was nice with background music that was just loud enough to be heard so it wasn't intrusive. Simply put, I recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

The patron and his wife were gracious and welcoming - the food excellent and the value can't be beat - add "vinyl" , a wine store right around the corner and you are set for a lovely evening. I have been to Dakar several tines and the food and ambiance took me right back to West Africa !!!

We were looking for African cuisine to try, and La Galette definitely fits that genre. This is actually Senegalese which is west Africa, but hey, close enough. My spouse says Mt.Sinai employees order lunch in from here often, so we tried it. All of our dishes were very good. Big portions, too. I had the beet/goat cheese starter and the chicken curry main which were both yummy. Others had big salads and fun African apps to start and the lamb and talipia, nicely presented. Perhaps lacking in atmosphere, but definitely worth a try. Total tab for 4 was $105 + tip. It's run by a husband & wife team. Note that it's BYOB, so a cold sauvignon blanc was $15 at Vinyl Wine, a half block away at 1555 Lexington. La Galette is 177 E 100th St just east of Lex and around the corner from Joy Burger. We enjoyed this meal.

I live in the neighborhood and have been eating here since they've opened. The food is fantastic. I've had just about everything on the menu, aside from some of the new dishes they've added and I have yet to be disappointed. The special entrees are a real treat as are the bissop and ginger drinks. The service is warm and inviting. The decor is tasteful and elegant. Although the food can be a little slow in coming it is definitely worth the wait. You can always call ahead your order.

I have been looking for a great West African place on the UES for years. Since I moved to NYC, I've always had to go up to 116th in Harlem, a bit out of the way, to find my dibi lamb, djebugen, ginger juice and beesap. I've only ordered from the place, but the service has been great, the people kind and professional, and the food fresh, well-seasoned and tasty. I highly reccommend.

I tried their lamb and rice Senegalese combo and was quite impressed. Definitely delicious. The portion was huge and and price was very reasonable. I really enjoyed the combination of spices and flavors. The beef-filled appetizers were quite tasty and came in a nice sauce. I was salad was rather unimpressive. I'll in all, I definitely plan to return.

This restaurant is soooo good. The food is made from scratch, excellent quality and flavor. Would recommend the yassa chicken - delicious!! I love taking people here!
