Brunch - quick
The Italian tiles and tables add to the ambiance as well as the classical music, however it is chilled by the quick service without a smile. The complimentary breads for brunch are stale and simply recycled from the week's left-overs. I was expecting that a restaurant which bares the name "Focaccia" would exceptional focaccia. The vegetable omelette came with dry greens while the omelette with goat cheese had a tiny spoonful of cheese on top - hardly enough to even mention it in the description. The brunch deal is good but don't expect great food, although the music may make up for the experience.

not worth it
Went recently for dinner. The food quality is poor and the service is chilly. The atmosphere is nice until you sit in the cramped, uncomfortable seats. There are so many other delicious Italian options. Wasting $$ here is simply not worth it.

delicious food cozy warm atmosphere
wow i'm so surprised at all these people's bad reviews. i have been to focaccia dozens of times and have always experienced fine service and the pasta is always fresh and good. i wouldn't say it's a place that's going to wow you, but it's yummy and cozy; and on a fri or sat in the village when so many places are packed and pretentious this is place is always accomodating.

bad focaccia!!
for such a great location, it is a shame that this restaurant has poor quality food. even their focaccia is hard and stale tasting! the staff don't make up for the deficits unfortunately.

really!?
I have to say that I agree with recent posts: this restaurant serves mediocre food with too much attitude. I have many favorite Italian spots in the city and many of them are in the village area. Save your dining experience for a place with good quality food (fresh ingredients, tasty combinations of flavors). La Focaccia rates very low for Italian food in NY.

disappointing
I have been intending to go to La Focaccia for some time. The neighborhood is charming, and the restaurant seemed cozy with warm lighting, a Christmas tree centerpiece, etc. I was incredibly disappointed. The food was mediocre to poor and the service was underwhelming. My friends and I were discussing our favorite Italian restaurants during dinner, and noted that several of them were within walking distance of the sub-par restaurant that we were sitting in!! Go elsewhere and have a yummy meal, good wine, and feel happy as you leave. That will not be the case at La Focaccia.

customer reviews are important
When looking up this restaurant to comment on our experience, eighty-eight (88!) Italian restaurants came up in the west village area. There is no shortage of options, and sometimes disregarding customer feedback is simply not worth having an unpleasant experience. The atmosphere at La Focaccia is lovely, the Christmas tree gives a warm glow. The tables are cramped and the chairs uncomfortable. All of this, I would forgive. What is not forgivable is the absence of service, the flavorless dishes, and stale, dry focacciathis restaurant's namesake. As the room filled up, we wondered how this restaurant has survived the years...perhaps location? Could the brick oven be the lure? Nevertheless, I implore anyone who is looking for fresh ingredients and a warm, delicious meal to look elsewherethere are an abundance of options within walking distance!
