La Flor Del Paraiso
Posted by anonymous on 10/23/2013
I have been living in NYC for 7 years and have searched far and wide for good Mexican food on the coast. I have eaten at the moderate end and the high end but nothing even came close to my favorite spot in LA. Now, after 7 years. I can say that La Flor Del Paraiso is go to spot when I am missing Mexican food. I have never actually gone to the place but I have tried their delivery several times. Please disregard my ratings for atmosphere and service. But as to the food, this place is amazing. The tex-mex burrito is my favorite and I also love the nachos. I have yet to try so many of their dishes but I am looking forward to it all. This is not what you would get at Rosa Mexicano and Dos Caminos, and for that, I am thankful. The flavors and the textures from this are as close to Mexican food in LA as I have tried in SEVEN years so I recommend it very highly.

I have been here 3 times and have had a wonderful experience everytime. My first time at La Flor Del Paraiso was a pleasing one. My friend and I literally stumbled upon this place after learning the intended venue of choice was closed. Who would have thought we would have discovered a jewel on Atlantic Avenue. The establishment is well kept.m Decor is substantial and Manuel and Elizabeth are the most friendly staff I've encountered at a restaurant in a long time. I enjoyed my experience so much that I cam back with co-workers for an afterwork cocktail. The margaritas were on point and the ambiance was suitable for our group. I will definitely return to support Manuel and Elizabeth as well as an establishment that is under looked in it's community!

I had date with my husband and my birthday party here. Both enjoyable. The food is full of flavor and the drinks are genorous. The green plantains served with a garlic cream dipping sauce is a standout. The decor is warm with a large wooden bar in front and brick lined seating area in the back are cozy and welcoming. Manuel the manager and bartender and Elizabeth the owner are attentive and gracious. This is an ndiscovered gem

The food is very good, the service is attentive and brisk. We live a few doors down and eat here once a month and have never had a bad meal - always a pleasure. The steak salad is a go-to, and the roast pork and steak with peppers also delicious. The one guy who got a cold burrito - that was and exception, I'm sure. Nobody's perfect, but these people are darn close.

I waited over an hour for a simple burrito. Had to call 3 times. Do not order from this place. This is my first review, and that should tell you how bad this place is that I felt the need to come here and warn off others. I've tried this place before and it wasn't great. I am all about the second chance. Turns out, this place just isnt worth it. Do not bother ordering unless enjoy waiting an hour for a cold burrito.
