    Service is inconsistent

Food and atmosphere are OK, but the service is always inconsistent. Waiters seem to be friendly, but sometimes they forget to bring drinks (especially if you're just asking a glass of water).

    The Best Local Restaurant

This place is cute and cozy. The food is delcious and the service is superb. The Skirt Steak is def one of the best I have ever had ( I am not even a steak Lover, but i get this every time). I go at least once a week. I do other a second order for lunch the next day, how could you not, at the incredible prices. The french fries are also great. But you can't go home w/o trying their Cappuchino, which it is to die for.

    New places...probably the worst

I thought this place was going to be the cutest new establishment to open up. I loved it the first time I went there. But the last two times were subpar. I swear they used instant mashed potatoes on my girlfriend's order, and their selection of drinks was at best 2 out of 5. I had take out and it reminded me of my college pasta bar.

    kudos to entrepreneurs

I love this place. And, yes like most new places there are some quirks to work out with delivery, but their salads and pasta dishes are exceptional especially when you dine there. This place is a genuinely fresh addition to the neighborhood, and I for one welcome the cuisine!

    Favorite Local

Love going here - probably drop in 2 or 3 times a month. Love the skirt steak more than life itself, and for the price I often get an extra for leftover-lunches. Almost overly-friendly staff is a welcome change for the neighborhood, and the selection of organic beers and wines, along with the 'grown up sodas' add a nice touch. Not everything on the menu warrants raves, and I, too, have been disappointed with the delivery (got cold? got mushed? something went awry!), but I think it's a fantastic option for dining in. Yay, La Estufa!

    I like...a lot

La Estufa is just the cutest little thing with a great, diverse, affordable menu. the portions are just right. not too much to cause you to leave half the meal on the plate and not too little to make u feel like there is still a void in your tummy. they have G.U.S. = Grown Up Soda, which i thought was adorable. will definately go back soon.

    Not recommended for delivery

After reading all the great reviews here on MenuPages and in a local newspaper, my fiance and I were psyched to order from here. We couldn't get up to 214th so we ordered delivery. Either the delivery food is drastically worse than what you get in the restaurant or a lot of these "reviews" are faked. The food was not good. I ordered the Linguini with Lamb Ragout Sauce and it was runny, had no flavor, and very small pieces of lamb. Tasted like something I made in my dorm room in college. The Basic Crostini (with olives) appetizer was the total opposite of what a Crostini should be instead of crispy, light and flavorful, it was soggy, bland, and chewy. Yuck. My fiance's "Pasta Half Order" of whole wheat penne in tomato and basil sauce was overly sweet and pungently flavored and the pasta was overcooked and rubbery. Bleh. A total disappointment.
