    Herb Central (NYC definition)

The food is genuinely mediocre. The chicken in my taco was dry, and it was as healthy as fast food. But it was the attitude of literally everyone working and eating there that was just unbearable. The staff believe there are enough people attracted to negative treatment because of its association with exclusivity that they are condescending to all. The ironic thing is those who are let in are almost all herbs, which is a term used by native New Yorkers (I grew up here) to connote a "wannabe." The girls/women I saw were mostly the stereotypical Long Island folk of average looks. My impression is that most of the people were there because they read it's supposed to be trendy. I saw it needs to shape up, and the professional critics need to take an unbiased look at this place again without worrying who the owner is.

    No puede ser...

Party of three seated at the outside tables to enjoy the wonderful evening. Not all tables taken at 6.30, slow at the stand as well. Service was ridiculously slow, getting us menus, drinks, food and so on. Ordered quesadillas, tacos - bistec - pescado - cochinita pibil. Quesadillas were luke warm and after an,at least, 30 minute wait the tacos were cold. Not surpised that some may find the tacos sabrosos, ricos, this far from Mexico, but they were plain. Two horchatas and a jamaica (good) were adequate. There has to be something better in New York City cuz this will do only for those that don't know or care about true Mexican comida. Value? Please.....

The stand is a cool place...

This is a tricky place to review because it is a taco stand, but insided the stand there is a door guarded by guards. From what I understand there is like an exclusive club/restaurant in there. I haven't been inside the exclusive place, nor do I think I will ever be inside. For my review I'll just review the taco stand. The Taco stand is great. It has very high quality food. The food is made to order with fresh ingredients. Great Tortillas! It has an authentic flavor and they even carry mexican drinks and sodas. It's a great place to go to with friends after hanging out late. It can be a little pricey, but if you split the costs with people it isn't that bad. It can get pretty busy and you'll have to wait for your food, so basically it is not a place to go to if your in a rush.

Get To-Go Staff is a Drag!

The food at this place is great, it's too bad the wait staff is on a perma-break. I keep giving this place a try cause I like the food but sadly I'll have to pass on it forever. Save your money and have a pleasant experience somewhere else.

    Poor service, great food.

Went here last night for a friend's birthday. The staff was rude right away: our waiter was snarly and exasperated. We spent over $200 on dinner, but he rolled his eyes every chance he got. We had brought along a birthday cake from Veniero's for dessert & they charged us $20 as a "plate fee." The dining area was pretty, but close to a busy lounge. The pricey food was excellent, but there are tons of great kitchens in NYC; I'd rather go to one that is at least respectful if not nice to its customers.
