Favortie Coffee In NYC
I've been coming to this La Colombe location since June '10. I was hooked on the coffee immediately. It's the way that I always hope coffee will taste when I order it at a good restaurant. I have buy ground coffee here and brew it at home to good effect, but it's always better in the shop. Speaking with the baristas taught me that they are exacting with their measurements which yields them a consistent flavor day after day. Iced coffee is also strong and full of flavor. One shot of espresso is added to each serving to compensate for the dilution from the ice. There's no wi-fi here, so it's not a virtual office type of place. Very sparse and open and always a fast-moving line out the door at peak times. My coffee drinking life has improved since getting turned onto L.C. I have also visited the location on Lafayette and found it to offer the exact same product. Though I don't eat the pastries often, they always look amazing - very French. Almond croissants scream 'eat me' and the chocolate macaroons, when they have them, are top notch.

Great coffee - good place for a short break from a long day
GREAT GREAT GREAT coffee and tasty pastry. Came in for a quick espresso and almond pastry, was surprised by the quality, flavor and taste of both! Highly highly recommended. Not too much space to sit down (i.e. no camping out w laptops) There's one long bench and about 4-5 tables, but a wonderful place to take a short break from a long day. Good service, and accepts cards and cash.
