    What jerks.

I've been to La Caverna a couple times before and really liked the vibe of the place. I just came back from a night at La Caverna and my experience was unpleasant. My girlfriends and I got a table and hookah and were having a great time. We noticed the bouncer walking towards us holding onto a girl and escorting her out. As he walks past our table, he loses control of the girl and she falls RIGHT on our table, knocking down all our drinks and hookah, sending the coal onto my friend's shoe. The bouncer quickly grabbed her and took her away, and the waitresses/busboys began cleaning up our area. We asked our waitress to replace our drinks and hookah.. 10 minutes later, she comes and tells us that she can't do it because we have to pay for replacements.. if we wanna complain, go to the manager. He starts elling us it's OUR fault that this random drunk girl fell on our table. When we pointed out that it was HIS bouncer who lost control of the girl, he said they weren't at fault because it was a random girl. So they never replaced our stuff and expected us to pay for it all over again. Never again, La Caverna.. never again.

    Strange Place

The cement stalactites were tacky and weird. And because it's in a basement, the fake cave atmosphere became oppressive. The server was nice and personable--but there were only two tables in the place, so I think she was hovering out of boredom. The beer and wine were actually a good value. It's the only thing La Caverna really has going for it, because my $12 pasta dish was seriously penne out of a box and a jar of Newman's Own Vodka Sauce. I know this because it's probably what I would have made myself for dinner had I stayed at home. For a fraction of the price. Disappointing.

    Not recommended

The food wasn’t even the issues (it was nothing special, not horrible), but the service was really deplorable. No one there knew what they were doing. It started at the bar with a bartender that was not at all helpful in determining what types of gin they had available (i.e. "Nope, we don’t have that; no we don’t have that either"). We decided on gin and tonic after she admitted to not knowing how to make some of the drinks on the drink menu. At dinner our waitress took her time getting our wine, which finally came after we had already started eating our appetizers. Once we were finished with the apps, we had to remind her that she hadn’t even taken our orders for the main course. Additionally, management couldn’t be bothered to print out new menus, they just scratched out items off the dingy existing ones. The décor was subpar as well. The place looked like a throwaway from the Disney World ride, Pirates of the Caribbean, but with a DJ booth. I don’t think management knows what they want this place to be, a club, lounge, or restaurant. Regardless, they are getting all three wrong.

    Expected more...

Nothing special about the food, service was poor, decor corny and drinks were watered and overpriced. Worth checking out once though

    Do not bother! Seriously.

Saw pictures online and thought it would be nice to try with a group of friends. Got there and the decor was a bit cheesy, but what really killed the evening was the service and attitude. Our group (7 of us) were spending $$$ on bottles of wine & drinks (not ordering just water) AND waiting to order dinner, however the manager kept trying to change our table to a smaller one when the place was NOT even anywhere near half-filled! The service was bad and the quality of the food does not make up for it. My advice...don't go.

    Good food, good music

This place was very good. You find yourself in a very different atmosphere and feel yourself in a real cave. Some of the decorations seem to be cheap. Although the service was not excellent the food over here was amazing. I had the veal and my friends had the Pasta con frutti di mare (seafood). Everything was delicious and excellent. Both the presentation and the quality of food was very good. And the best thing is that prices are reasonable compared to food quality. And the best thing is that after 11.30pm this place turns into a nice packed club lounge and they play alot of good music. So you enjoy good food in a different environment which is not so expensive and a nice club/bar crowd with nice music afterwards. Would go again!

    Cool b-day dinner

This place was AWESOME! My husband and I came here for my 21st bday on 10/07/05. the food was divine! They served hot bread with our appetizer which was perfect for dipping into the mussels sauce. I had Penne vodka, which was so good, and i don't know the name of the dish my husband had, but it was chicken with mushrooms and potatoes. We also tried a few of their martinis. the white peach and the chocolate ones are to die for, and i would gladly pay more then $10 for a martini like that. We definitely won't wait for a special occasion to come here again. And also, we were so stuffed from the appetizers and the entrees that we didn't have any room to try the dessert. Next time i'll pace myself better and leave some room.
