La Casa Del Mofongo

The place is extremely crowded, had to wait a little but the food was amazing.... They definitely need a bigger place. The tables are too closed to each other so if you are out on a date it is a little unconfortable to chat freely. This place is more of a sunday family lunch, dinner place. They do have a bar but is too crowded.... Overrall the food is worth going for....

I thought the food was wonderful but I have to say the waitress was very unfriendly.

I've been to this restaurant 3x.. the food has been great in every instance, but for some reason the waitresses are not cordial. If that minor detail were to change, this would be an all around great place.

I can really say we enjoyed ourselves fully. the food was phenominal. the service was surprisingly good. the atmosphere was ongoing but at the same time, it was tranquil. i totally recommend this spot. my hubby is NOT too easy to please, but he definitely wants to go back...and thats a good sign!

Food - I ordered mofongo with chivo and the chivo was amazing! I wasn't so crazy about the mofongo because it had no or little garlic. I also ordered a jugo de lechosa, it was pretty good. Overall, the food was great, just put some garlic in the mofongo like in the original recipe. Service - I went on a Friday night and it was packed. We waited about 1/2-1 hour for a table for 3, so I would recommend reservations. Value - I didn't pay for the bill, but my plate was $13 and I think it was worth it, I even took some home. Atmosphere - They were playing some really good music and I felt like dancing. But there was no dance floor, and the dance area was tth bar and I'm under 21, which sucked. Overall, it was a great place if you appreciate Dominican culture.

I was never really a fan of mofongo until I tried it here. It is delicious. The restaurant is pretty nice and has seating for everyone: those who want a quiet meal and those who want to watch TV or hang out by the bar while they eat. It is way uptown, but the mofongo makes it worth it. Another one of my faves...their tres leches cake.

This place was awesome..i drove all the way from Queens just to eat here & celebrate my birthday . it was well worth it! (not sure about the neighborhood though, kind of ghetto..no offense to my uptown fam!) once you're inside you feel like you're in DR. The music, the people, and the FOOD were great. Highly Recommended. The only downside was the service was a little slow, we had to ask the host if our waitress forgot about us, but the food & drinks made up for it. And pricing wasn't bad either. it was a group of 5, and we all had 2 drinks, 2 appetizers (shared) and main dish, for just 50 bucks (including tip), each and not to mention the staff sang Happy Birthday to me and gave us dessert!... it's also recommended if you have about 5 or more in your party to make a reservation....ENJOY
