    A "must eat"

This has been one of my very favorite places to eat for many years. Don't bother ordering from the Chinese menu. The Chinese food is fine, but you can get that anywhere. The Cuban food is where it's at. To die for. Who cares about atmosphere when your tastebuds are this happy?! Besides, it's New York! What do you want, 5-star dining every day? You'd be missing the whole point! I no longer live in NYC, but never miss a trip to La Caridad whenever I visit.

Good Food, that's all that counts here

I have been to several cuban restaurants, and this one always tops them all! The restaurant is not classy, but then again you can easily have a meal under 10 bucks that will fill you up for the entire day! Remember with this type of place how good the food is makes up for everything else. The waiters are far from friendly as most would say, but they are all tri-lingual, I think that deserves an A+!!

    An Institution

Whether you live in the Dakota or live off your unemployment check, you must have had or must try La Caridad. Always get Cuban, order your Chinese elsewhere. Gut-busting portions of rice and beans add to every dish, great avacado salad, and salt up some sweet plantains. Dining in suggested only during lunch and late night -- make sure you know what you want quickly, cause these old school waiters don't come with patience.
