    Disappointing experience

We had heard high reviews of the place and were very disappointed. Started with attempt to make reservation online (only way) and had to provide credit card and guarantee payment of $25 per person ($250/10 ppl) whether we showed up or not. While we were there, there wasn't even any people waiting to be seated and there was plenty of space so do not understand the reason for the guarantee except to rip people off. Service okay, food was not (e.g. sweet taste to short ribs which was not common, calamari wasn't that good). We wanted candles put on cupcakes for birthday person and were told there would be chg of $3 per person for it. We said we would just bring them out and sing happy birthday and were told it wasn't allowed. Will never return here again.

    What a great neighborhood find!

This place is amazing. First of all, if you want to go somewhere just for a drink (or two) at 5:00, the bar is excellent; very relaxing and easy. When you decide to dine, you're in for a treat. The food is excellent and so reasonable. This restaurant is really about getting a neighborhood crowd and it has really done it. Don't "assume" you don't need a reservation because, even for two, you may. This is a great find and I hope they're around for a long time. The eggplant appetizer is worth it all and they have whole wheat pasta (which they added due to requests) for anyone who can't eat white pasta. Go for it!!!! The only drawback is it can be noisy, but you can just yell like everyone else!!!

Had little issues but everything else was FANTASTIC

We read about this place on menupages and my boyfriend went one a whim to try something new....we asked for a wine and they were out of that bottle... we asked for a ravioli dish and about 10 min after we find out they are out of ravioli's HOWEVER following those issues it was one of the best meals I have had in a while...everything was so tasty and perfect portions... its a small place thats a little difficult to find but still romantic...the waiter was very helpful with the choices..and the spagetti alla cabonara was to DIE for! the prices were good... We would definately recommend this place

    Great dining experience

I don't usually write reviews, but I've enjoyed eating at Carbonara a few times in the past couple of months and each time has been better than the last. The baked leeks appetizer is delicious, calamari is also super tasty! Dishes that I really enjoy include the Carbonara, Bolognese and def., the Braised Short ribs with served with Potato Truffle Cannelloni is delicious! Wine prices are also very reasonable! Will def. be coming here a lot more!!!!

    Pretty Tasty

I am a huge fan of spaghetti carbonara and so when I walked by a place called Carbonara I had to try it. I got a to-go order and have to say it was really good. Not the best in the city, but definitely very good. I'd go again when in the neighborhood.

    What did you say?

Excessively and oppressively noisy. Literally couldn't talk to or hear person across from you without screaming. Made for a very very uncomfortable dining experience. For those who like to eat alone and with ear plugs: the entrees were reasonably good and the bread was very good.
