Awesome Trattoria!
The place is just right. Thursday lunch hours have a great vibe and chilled. Ate the Rigatoni and it was delicious, awesome service, I'm a waiter myself and was very pleased with the service. Will definetely come back.

Great Party in Meatpacking!
I recently had a grand celebration with 13 of my friends at La Bottega. The staff was helpful in ensuring that the experience was top notch, as we were celebrating a very special occasion. Christian, the manager, kept checking on us regularly and made sure the wine was flowing non-stop, and our waitress Christina was excellent as well. The atmosphere / ambience on the terrace felt trendy and upscale, but not too stuffy or snooty; and of course the food was great too. I selected a $60 prix fixe menu, and even though nearly half my group was vegetarians, the variety of appetizers (served family style) and entrees was pretty solid I would say. All in all, a great experience, and hopefully I will be back again sometime!

Yummy pasta!
Went here around 7 on a Sunday, so not incredibly crowded. We were seated right away outside. The place has a very nice atmosphere. We ordered two pasta dishes and a veggie side. The pasta was excellent. I would definitely go back here, at least for more pasta! Not incredibly cheap, but left here full.

Best Maitre D in Manhattan
We visited New York from the UK in April and stayed at the Maritime. One night we decided to have dinner at La Bottega as it didn't require us going anywhere. We arrived around 7 p.m. and were seated immediately. The place started hopping not long afterwards and although our meal order was taken quite quickly, we seemed to be forgotten when it came to water being served or asked what we wanted to drink. My husband (not a patient person) was getting quite antsy by now and was ready to go and find someone to complain to. Just then a man in a suit appeared from nowhere and asked if there was a problem. When we explained that we had been there for around 30 minutes and had ordered our meals but were still waiting for water and other drinks, he swung into action. First of all he brought the water to us, took our order to the bar and for the rest of the night was much in evidence. We commented on his accent and he told us his name was Adam and he was from Australia. I don't know if it's the Australian way of doing things, but the entire evening he worked the floor, checking on every table to make sure everyone was happy, pitching in to serve when it was really busy and he chatted pleasantly with all and sundry, customers and staff. We found out later he is the General Manager! I read a lot of adverse comments on here about the service at La Bottega. My advice is to phone ahead and ask if Adam is there and you'll have a fantastic experience.

Holy Sh*t the service here BLOWS
Fellow foodies, please please please, avoid this place if you crave decent service. My family and I dined here this past weekend and wanted to enjoy the gorgeous weather in NY. The place was pretty empty and we waited about 20 minutes for a table. Once we were seated outdoors we noticed that there were several open tables, and several servers. One person took our drink order, and two more came by after that to take our drink order. Lovely in theory, except that we waited almost a half hour for drinks. An incredible length of time passed before we ordered our brunch, (no special orders mind you) and then when they finally brought our food out, one was missing. Realizing they made the mistake they didn't charge us for the meal but everyone was finished by the time the last meal arrived. No apologies and everyone pretty much just running around with their heads up their you-know-whats. Too bad really because the outdoor space is fabulous but the poor service is terribly disappointing.

pleasant
place gets packed because of the outdoor seating options; but otherwise its a go-to place in the area - standard good food, very pleasant setting.
