I eat here...
as many times out of the weeks as I can! the staff are friendly and the bagels... mm.. I usually don't like those store bought bagels, but bagel from this place is so fresh, chewy, and fluffy. they don;t skimp on the goodies either. I have t otell them to go easy on the cream cheese! actually, once at the one on 7th ave, brooklyn (not the one on1st Street) there were barely any cream cheese! but that was the only time I had a bad experience with them.. you just have to know what you want when you go in and be quick about it, thats all. come on, they are really busy.

Don't waste your time..
and Time is exactly what you would be wasting a lot of if you go here. I just called in an order for a single sandwich. i asked the lady on the phone "10 minutes?" and she said yes. i walked out, dropped of some mail, went in barnes and noble and then into the store and they had not yet even started making my sandwich. I was trying to give them time to make it but also to get home in time to watch the game. poop on them. poop.

Love, love, love this place!
I absolutely love this place. The food is amazing and relatively cheap. I can get a 12 inch sandwhich, chips and 2 drinks for $12. They have this amazing sandwhich called the "Texas Melt" and I suggest getting it on Texas toast - it's a $1 less and 100 times better. The bagels are great and they have a great assortment of homemade cream chese - I love the strawberry! I've taken family when the come in town and my sister insists on heading back every time she comes in town. As for the service, everytime I'm there they are greeting people and are always pleasant. I say definitely give this place a shot - you'll def. find yourself a repeat patron.

childhood favorite
I have been going here for as long as they have been around, at least twenty years. NO BAGEL compares to La Bagel! Also, the owners are great and always stop to ask about how my family is doing, etc. Every neighborhood in Brooklyn would be lucky to have a local bagel store as great as La Bagel!

I am not a big bagel person but....
I love the bagels at this place! Sometimes bagels are too heavy for me and I can barely finish one. But I have no problem finishing their bagel. They are so chewy and simply so good! I recently moved to Park Slope and I finally found the best begel in town!! Because I wanted to share this excitment, I bought a bunch of bagels and took them to work. Everyone at my work loved them also. This place is always packed and the service is very good. Although I am new to this place, they treat me like I've been their regular for a long time.

Not a real bagel
New York bagels should have crisp crust and chewy insides, being made with high gluten flour. These are fluffy. they are huge rolls with a hole in the center. And the service is gruff. You'd better not hesitate while you're ordering.

i call the place "Bagel D" and i love it. loooove it. they have secret bagel types you might not know about like whole wheat everything bagels. this place has the right thing for everyone, even vegans (i promise).
