La Bagel Delight

I'm only writing this because I happened to notice the two "meh" reviews on here while I was looking at the menu. I've been coming here for years. They make a solid bagel and offer bunch of different cream cheeses. (My usual order is a sesame toasted with olive cc or jalepeno cheddar cc). They have all kinds of other food, too, but I can't vouch for it. The bagels, though, are the big, soft, chewy, savory variety. Yum. The ordering process can be a bit confusing. If there's no one standing at the cashier ordering and paying, you should shoulder your way up and place your order. Then pull back and mill around until your order's up, at which point you go back and pay.

I guess this new outfit is still working out it's kinks. I've been in and tried to call a couple times for delivery. The first response to me asking for delivery was "we don't deliver on the weekend". Probably not the best policy in a prodominantly residential neighborhood, but there you go. The next time, they took my address etc, then I was asked "is your address within walking distance from us?" to which I replied "yes" to which they replied "well, can you just walk over here to pick it up?". If you're already there and feel like grabbing something quick then the food is OK here for to-go deli style sandwiches etc, solid but nothing extraordinary. But there are plenty of others (IE either of the Bergen Bagel spots) that do the same thing and actually (albeit slowly sometimes) deliver. Furthermore, lots of places don't offer delivery, which is fine. I guess the moral of the story is if you really don't offer the service, just don't advertise it.

Great place in the neighborhood to grab a breakfast sandwich on the go!
