Never again
Food is an embarassment to the real L&L in Hawaii! I was seriously disappointed. Will never go back again. Left wanting to book a flight and get some real Lau Lau and musubi!!!

Seriously?
Just got takeout from this place, very disappointing! The food is no better than an average chinese takeout place, that's right, I said chinese takeout (nothing hawaiian about it). The coconut dessert thing, I think they call it a pudding, has absolutely no sugar in it and it tastes like it came out of a box. Never getting food from them again.

spot on??
I grew up in hawaii and I wouldn't agree that their food is spot on at this L&L. But I will say that for someplace on the mainland it is as close to local as local can get... Now if only New York could work on their sushi. Hawaiian sushi still beats everywhere else.

The Chicken is Great
I grew up in NYC and live on take-out food. The chicken is great and an excellent value. It also seems pretty healthy , as far as take-out food goes and comes with salad and white rice. I've never actually been in the place so I can't comment on atmosphere.

Best Mixed Plate outside of Hawaii!
So my husband and I just got back from our first of many visits to L&L outside of Hawaii. All I have to say is it was exactly what I hoped it would be. Our only disappointment was finding out it has been open for 4 years and this was the first we had heard about it. If you have ever been to Hawaii, you know that this is spot on Hawaiian mixed plate food. For those of you who were let down by the food or ambiance, you should know that L&L is the McDonalds of Hawaii. It is fast food, it is greasy, it is not fancy in anyway nor is it supposed to be. But for anyone looking for an inexpensive traditional Hawaiian meal of chicken katsu, which was not at all greasy by the way, sweet and spicy katsu sauce, sticky white rice macaroni salad, and iceberg lettuce salad with carrot and ginger dressing washed down with a passion fruit drink, this is the place for you. I can't wait to eat my leftovers! Also, the cashier had no problem understanding our order, was polite when we asked questions and referred us to the owner or manager who was glad to speak to us when we asked about purchasing the t-shirts they wore sporting the "I heart L&L" logo, which I would gladly wear with pride.

do not get the ribs..
I am easy to please, after reading the reviews I decided to check it out. My boyfriend got the chicken which seemed fairly decent. Ribs were pretty gross though, extremely fatty and cut up into very small pieces. I was not impressed, save your money and go somewhere else (or just get the macaroni salad).
