You have to try the tuna dumpling appetizer on the specials menu!!! I am moving out of the neighborhood and Kyoto is one of the places i will miss the most!!!! Every roll is fantastic!

I'm not even a sushi fan, usually. That's how much I love this place. Generous portions, yummy appetizers, and out-of-this-world special rolls. I suggest the seared red tuna appetizer, the Smith roll, and the red bean ice cream for dessert. The tuna dumpling appetizer is also great, as is the Yankee roll. It's expensive, but worth it.

Kyoto has a warm and friendly environment and the staff is lovely. The food is really good and the lunch specials are nice and cheap. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who's in the neighborhood, I eat there at least once a week.

The sushi is fresh and inventive. The owner and staff are helpful, friendly and treat customers very well. They had fresh toro on one visit and it was delicious! The raw scallop was tasty too. It is my favorite Japanese restaurant on Smith Street. The owner will remember you and treat you like an old friend everytime you dine.

The food here is delicious- fresh and clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful when you order. The owner is usually there holding court, and making skae reccomendations. Go for the daily specials, they come up with some interesting creations, like tuna dumplings- lobster salad wrapped in paper-thin tuna, shaped like a dumpling, and topped with gold leaf and fish roe. Definitely the best sushi in the neighborhood!

The food and service here are amazing! The staff is so welcoming and willing to spend time answering questions and giving recommendations. The specialty rolls are excellent, and I must echo that the tuna dumpings are out of this world. As for dessert. Do yourself a favor and order the fried bananas. They are slightly salty and perfectly sweet and will make you think you are in the diner scene of "When Harry Met Sally". Orgasmic!

We went to Kyoto about 2 weeks ago and had a great meal. The portions are huge - we totally over-ordered but ended up eating everything because it was yummy! The salmon skin salad and hamachi kama were especially good. The service was great - very attentive and friendly, and it was a fantastic value as well. We will definitely be going back.
