I have been a sushi snob for at least 10 years, have dated hardcore sushi snobs who educated me on how to eat sushi and what an authentic sushi-eating experience is. I basically lived off this place the entire winter when I had a bad break-up. Worth it. Large portions, always fresh, lovely people. My favorite sushi is still in New Orleans, but this is a wonderful second best for a simple, trustworthy sushi experience. Delivery only.

I've fooled around with all the "best" sushi in Manhattan: Omen, Matsuri, Nobu, Blue Ribbon - and spent my fair share of time in Tokyo. Obviously those experiences are a whole different beast... and you have to keep that in mind when you order from Kyoto. Without any question this is the best delivery sushi in Williamsburg and Greenpoint. When you read the other reviews you'll see that they don't like the mayo. Who started putting mayo is sushi anyways? It's disgusting. Also, most things on the menu that AREN'T sushi/maki/sashimi are underwhelming... so don't order those. THE SUSHI IS GREAT. The fish is really nice and fresh, and their generous sizes. A few rules for success: 1. Don't order anything that isn't from the sushi bar. 2. Don't order crazy complicated rolls. No mayo, no crazy grilled stuff, oysters. 3. Stick to the american classics: tuna, salmon, yellow tail, eel, mackerel... even the ikura is great. 4. Don't go there. Delivery only. 5. If the option is given, take the soup over the salad. 6. The cuts are a little big. Sorry. They're giving you a lot of fish. I know Chef Masa wouldn't approve but this isn't that experience. It usually takes between half an hour and 45 minutes. Enjoy.

Ordered last night based on good reviews and it was horrible! Don't understand the good reviews at all! The sushi was mostly rice and poor quality. Can't believe it cost me over $50 to find out this place sucks. Bummer!

Another reviewer mentioned that they get a little crazy with the japanese mayo. He's not kidding, it's out of control - really overpowers a lot of the dishes. Aside from that I'm a big fan. The only thing letting down the service is the phone ordering, which is authentic, I guess, in that the nice lady seems to have no idea what you're saying and has had to have someone take over the process half way through, every single time.

Best overall value and quality in the greenpoint/willyburg area. Highly recommended and boy do we eat alot of sushi!

We order from Kyoto the same night every week for the past year and a half or so. We used to go there every week but then we moved and now we get delivery. The staff is very nice, and I have never been let down so far in my 50 plus weeks. When you go to the restaurant they refill your delicious green tea until your hearts content and when you get delivery it is super fast. I look forward to Kyoto night every week.

I keep giving this place a chance when I have a hankering for sushi. It's nearby. But, boy do they get it wrong continuously. An avocado salad consists of iceberg lettuce smothered in sweet japanese mayo and old avocados. It's simply disgusting. The fish isn't so bad but a bit mushy and cut too large. And everything has too much of the disgustingly sweet japanese mayo on it. Major improvement needed. I'm completely disappointed and angry that I spent 28$ on a handroll, an iceberg lettuce mayo old avacado salad, and 3 pieces of toro cut too large.
