    Decent food

The food was good, not amazing but good. Recommended are crispy artichoke salad, meatballs. The meat dishes (lamb and shortribs) were better than salmon. Didn't think the salmon was flavorful, nor was it rare as I had requested. Maybe not that fresh. The falafel crust wasn't crusty, kind of soggy and didnt taste like falafel. Lastly, apple crumble and babka bread pudding were the best desserts. My husband & I go out all the time to top restaurants in NYC, this was a large group for my brother's birthday. We ordered 2 bottles of wine and had 8 people. The waitstaff, in general, were surprisingly blasé . After our desserts arrived, I tried to explain to our waiter that we had meant to only order one rainbow cookie Sunday (I specifically had asked for a recommendation for a replacement). Instead of being gracious and apologizing, he started to argue with me. Wow! My 12 year old commented, that was so weird, he should have just said he was sorry. He charged us for both on the bill which was over $500. I doubt the real Kutshers treated its customers like that.

    No Good

We started with the artichokes which were good and the potato pancakes which were tasteless. Seriously, how could caviar not have any taste but theirs did. I then had the reuben which was so highly touted. It's not worth the calories, cholesterol or ordering as it is nothing more than greasy bread. The other dishes weren't much better and not worth my time to discuss. Lastly, the service was a rude waiter who thought he was just a little to cool. Do us all a favor and shut it down and start again.

    Nostalgia

Fabulous pastrami sandwich! Lots of nostalgia. The food was better than it had to be. The place is beautiful--clean and modern but comfy. Definitely worth a try.How much you like it depends on your Jewish background and memory.

    Had a great Chanukah dinner

Came here last night during the week. The service was the worst part, while not great it was not terrible. The food definitely made up for it. We had a lot of the small plates, and the deli plate with pastramis. Although we did not have any entrees, I still thought it was a great meal. Would definitely return, especially for the Rainbow cookie sundae!!

    Surprisingly Good

I live in the neighborhood and admit I was skeptical of this place, however, we went on a Saturday night and were impressed. The food was great. The duck pastrami was a standout as well as the duck entree. Would definitely return as long as they don't double their prices (as successful restaurants in the area seem to do). Also, the waitstaff, although seemingly overwhelmed by the Saturday night rush, were beyond nice.
