My absolute favorite
Sammy and his team hit a home run every time I visit Kush. The food is delicious and so fresh. The service leaves a bit to be desired. Wait staff is usually very friendly, but don't go here when you're in a rush. Dine in at this restaurant...you will not be disappointed.

Yum
This is the best new restaurant I have eaten at in awhile. I am confused by the review below mine because all of the veggies were clearly fresh and grilled. The vegetarian options were delicious and there is now a vegan ravioli on the menu as well. I can't wait to come back here. Its also a great place for a group of veg and non-veg folks to gather and have a good time. I found this place on menupages-and could not have been happier!

Frozen food and instant potatoes
While the atmosphere and service were delightful - the veggies were clearly frozen. The potatoes were clearly instant. My Cornish Hen had a distinct aftertaste of freezer burn. The wine sucked. My boyfriend's duck was so tough it couldn't be cut with the cutlery they gave us and our bill was $50 bucks. It might not have been so bad if the atmosphere and service didn't set up such a disappointment :-(

Does Not Delivery
One of my favorite places, especially in nice weather to sit outside. Always sad that they don't delivery though.

Haute African in the Hood
Kush has a warm, friendly atmosphere and honors local artists by using the restaurant as a gallery. The menu is a delectable assortment of finely flavored and beautifully presented Pan-African, French and American fare. The mussels are outstanding - as is the surf and turf. No stone is left unturned. There is something for every pallete. Vegetarians fare well as do carnivores and seafood lovers. If you have a sweet tooth, you are definitely in for a treat. The food is always real, fresh and seasonal. A real gem nestled on the edge of Bedford Stuyvesant.

Fantastic food, subpar service
I'll start with the good...the food is very very tasty. Everything we ate was delicious, fresh, and well flavored. Many unique flavors and combination of ideas that i hadn't had before. The beef on the kebabs was quite possibly the best i've had in years. Juicy, soft, succulent. The gizzards were fantastic. So was the seafood crepe. I'm a bit of a food snob, so that says a lot. Now the bad...atrocious service! Certainly makes the top 5 worst I've ever had. Before i continue, note that the restaurant had 4-6 other people aside from our party of 12, which meant they were about half full. We made reservations for 12 people at 8pm. We didn't get seated until 8:45pm. It took 5-10 minutes to get a relatively simple mixed drink. Possibly the worst bar tender in existence. For 12 people, they gave us 3 menus and asked if we could share. How a restaurant doesn't have enough menus to accommodate a half full seating is bizarre. The food took forever to come out. That said, the wait staff WAS friendly. I would definitely go again for the food and with a small patient party. Never again with a larger group.

Deeeelish!
I went to Kush Cafe for my birthday dinner last night with 12 of my friends and family. It was amazing! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was delightful. I had the seafood maffe, my friend had the veggie wot. We had a party of 13 and everyone's meal was delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone in search of something different and delicious whether you love African food and culture, or have no interest in the motherland whatsoever!
