Kum Kau was the best chineese restaurant on myrtle ave but I went there a few times and noticed that the food was not tasting the same. I remember seeing so many chinese cooks in the kitchen making that awesome food but in march of 2015 I notice they were all gone and replaced with 3 Indian guys and a chinese lady at the counter taking orders. The food was not good!!!! what the heck happenend???? did all the great cooks quit!!!! did they sell the business?

I live in in Virginia but my wife goes every month tto see her mother on Myrtle. She brings us food back from Kum Kau. If you had our Chinese food then you would understand how awesome the food from Kum Kau. Wake up New York because this restaurant is a jewel.

We used to love going here because it was Chinese food that didn't seem super cheap and greasy. It was beloved by so many in the neighborhood. Right before we ordered tonight we saw the review from recently that said they weren't as good as they used to be. We ordered anyway, and it turned out to be true. It wasn't like it used to be. The flavors were bland, the soups were even weird - both of them. The egg rolls were different than they used to be. Such a disappointment. We didn't finish anything. Bummer.

Food quality dropped significantly. Use to be outstanding, but just mediocre now. Very disappointed.

If you're looking for a cheap meal, come here. The service was great, but the food was just disappointing. Portions were a huge, oily mess.
