    love this place

although im not korean, i LOVE korean food and have been to almost every korean joint in town. and i would have to say that this is my favorite place to go, especially when im with big groups of pp, taking clients out, or getting friends together for a celebration. their "special" kalbi is THE best korean bbq in the city, not cheap, about 25 a person, but well worth the price. its a fun atmostphere, service sometimes can be slow when its busy, but they are very generous with the side portions. you can even ask them to refill the ones you like if they dont do it automatically! in summary, i love this place and would recommend it to anyone wanting a full sampling of this fun and healthy cuisine and also a general great time.

best ny korean bbq and kimchi to boot

make sure to order the "special" kalbi, which is supposedly a patented marinade they use. hands down the best bbq you can find in ny. it's busy, so be prepared to wait at peak hours, and the prices can be heavy, but the food is well worth it. atmosphere is fun and boisterous, not exactly a romantic setting, but perfect for large crowds ie 4 or more looking to have some fun and try something new which this place is more than well equipped to handle...besides the bbq they have amazing broths, stews, and mixed rice dishes and meat dishes. really an interesting culinary/cultural experience...i would go prepared with recommendations from friends who know the food, otherwise just stick with the special kalbi bbq which will go 25 a piece...enjoy!

    Great place

I liked this place a lot. The food was great, and they brought out like 10 free little appetizers (apparently this is a regular korean thing?). Anyway I thought that was really cool. We ordered the beef dumplings and the scallion & seafood pancake- both really awesome. I ordered the stir fry pork and kimchi in a stone pot, that was really good too. Actually I had the rest wrapped up and took it to work with me and am eating it right now. The service was good for the beginning of our meal, but when we wanted to get the check and leave it took practically 10-15 minutes to finally get the waitress to come back. That was annoying. The atmosphere is fine. Oh and they have table barbecues (which I didn't use) that looked really cool. The plum wine was better than par. All in all, it cost us 50 bucks for a ton of good tasting food and two glasses of plum wine- not bad.

There were no clams in my clam soup

My friend and I, wandering about KTown, decided to pop into this spacious Korean restaurant, and were instantly in awe of the fountain and the piano, the buckets of wholesale kimchi and the pretty bar. We were seated immediately and were served banchan and water by otherwise cold, distant waiters. We ordered a beef dumpling and rice cake soup, along with a soup that contained tofu, beef, and clams (my choice). The food was brough out quickly, yet it didn't take me long to realize that, along with there being a mere two pieces of beef in my soup, there was not a single clam. Luckily, my friend's soup was delicious (as the Koreans do beef better'n anyone). That being said, however, I probably will not return, especially with the knowledge that there are cheaper options just down the street.

    Good

Food was delicious. Price is a bit expensive. Lots of little dishes to sample from. When you leave the restaurant, you smell like the food, so ask them about their coat bag service. Overall, will go back again.

    Service is not good

Like others have said, the service at this restaurant is not very good at all. They stood around talking to each other while we were waiting for our order to be taken. Even after raising my hand to get their attention, other wait staff would ignore me. Food taste was decent, but I would have to say that the Kalbi can be had better down the street. The soft tofu casserole was not very good at all. The side dishes were pretty good and up to par with other Korean restaurants, however. The atmosphere was pretty nice, except when sitting in the corner on the top level, it was very very hot.

    Service

The waitress took long time to bring the food. Except your waitress, no other waitress wants to help you. The food wasn't like real Korean way.
