    where did the cook go?

I just got my lunch delivered and I am horrified. I've been eating there now and then since this place opened. Food was always good (I've been coming there a lot for pickle soup which is the best in entire greenpoint). What a disappointment. I ordered pickle soup and chicken Devolaille . Soup was great as always, but chicken was so bad, I had to throw it out - couldn't eat it. Chicken Devolaille is a chicken breast cutlet stuffed with herbed butter then breadded and fried. It is supposed to be very tender, and butter gives it that special flavor. But what I got from Krolewskie Jadlo was anything but. I didn't get chicken breast, but ground chicken (yuk !) stuffed with margarine, breaded and fried. Absolutely horrible. If it weren't for pickle soup I would still be hungry. One thing for sure - I won't eat there anymore. I prefer Karczma (same owner much better food)

Stop your search now! THIS IS THE PLACE.

My friend recommended this place and boy was I surprised!!!! I'm Russian so its hard to impress me when it comes to NY joints that serve this type of cuisine, so I was pleasantly surprised. The borscht with dumplings is fabulous! Authentic, full of flavor and done just right. We ordered several things off the menu and nothing failed to impress. Felt like being in Grandma's kitchen all over again. I am definitely going to be a regular there now!

    Yummy

I have never been to a Polish restaurant becuase I am Polish and my favorite Polish restaurant is my moms! But some friends wanted to try out a Polish restaurant and someone recom this restaurant. It was delicious!!! Between our table of friends we ordered almost one of everything and everything we tasted was great... not as good as mom's but a VERY CLOSE second.

    Great delivery

I have ordered from here around 15 times. The food is always really good and warm. The delivery is pretty fast. I enjoy dining there also, the staff is really friendly and service is good.

So far the cleanest Polish restaurant

I like Polish food but unfortunatelly most of Polish restaurants in Greenpoint don't look too clean, so I was really happy when they opened their doors few years ago. The food is pretty good. The place is also clean.

    Truely a Kings Feast

I am about to write a glowing review. And let me tell you, I'm a harsh critic and pan almost everything, including my friends cooking. I stumbled across this place with a friend last week. We were draw in by the two (real) suits of armor outside. Inside, it was a mostly Polish crowd, which I took to be a good sign. If real Polish people like it, it must be real Polish food. Cute interior with paintings of mustachioed kings and real swords on the walls. They have a three-course, $8 prix-fixe menu for lunchtime. Their menus don't include descriptions, so some of the dishes are a gamble, which I find fun. I had the Ukrainian borscht - a huge, creamy portion with beans and vegetables. Next, the roasted hock in beer. I thought it may be too heavy for lunch, but it was the perfect amount. Two small hocks which is mostly fat and bone. The meat was extremely tender. The waitress didn't ask us our preferences for sides and choose for us (sauerkraut, beet mash, pickles, frozen peas and carrots, etc). She also choose our dessert for us (apple pie, cheesecake, honey pie). The honey pie with whipped cream was a nice treat, but nothing to write home about (I'm not a big dessert fan anyway). There is a limited selection for vegetarians (mostly perogies), so bring your meat eating friends. All in all, amazing food for the price.
