The food is fantastic, carefully prepared and presented, and absolutely delicious, even the vegetarian option. Not a huge menu, but great quality food in a beautiful, cozy space. Great for kids to.

I had dinner at Krik Krak tonight, and can honestly say it was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in 8 years living in NYC. The interior is elegant, homey and inviting. My date and I shared the restaurant with the owners, who also certainly have a hand in the kitchen. They in turn took our order, told us about the cuisine, cooked us dinner and made us feel like guests in their home. We had the fried Akra de Malanga (a kind of tuber fritter, I think) which were greaseless and mmm-chewy with a fresh spicy dipping sauce, the whole red snapper with sea salt and sour orange (poisson de gros sel) and the vegetable stew, accompanied by rice with red beans and salad. Each dish was perfectly prepared, simple and complex, all at once. The fish was impeccably fresh and everything was well spiced- no need for salt or pepper on anything. At our little table with our BYOB of Sauvignon Blanc, We had the most tranquil and delicious meal - such a pleasure! And what gracious company. I'll be back whenever I can!

Walked by one day and read menu on window...prices very reasonable for Manhattan restaurant....Ordered steamed fish in lemon sauce with rice, plantains, and salad. Tried their delicious soup...bouillion. Food is tasty, well seasoned, cooked well, and pleasing to the eyes...just the right ingridients and very tastefully done. Had their rum and fruit cake with creamy liquored drink and this was by far the best I have ever had in terms of dessert. Came back several weeks later with friends from Montana and they enjoyed their island meals tremendously. Food here is divine and you will not be disappointed with the menu or drinks.

After reading the review online I decided to give Krik Krak a try. Excellent lambi (conch meat) with sauce as well athe the pikles and banan pese. I would definitley recommend it! Small but a nice atmosphere and the only disappointment was not having Jus Corrosol.

I met the owner in Jacmel Haiti back in December 2006. We were both there for Wyclef's concert on the beach. Back in USA, I decided to check out this little restaurant, and I'm glad I did. I am certain to go back, especially for the fish. The place is small, but go with the idea of settling in and sitting back, they will not rush you out the door.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. I found the service to be very friendly and the food to be excellent (as well as very reasonably priced!). As other people have noted, the service was a bit slow, but only when bringing the check and they had it out as soon as we asked again. The atmosphere is great - I will definitely be back.
