i don't understand the prior so-so reviews of this restaurant, unless it has gotten better with age, but we found that the service was golden and accommodating, the staff warm and welcoming and attentive. the pizza was memorable, crunchy crisp with fresh mozzarella and a true tomato-tasting tomato sauce and had no acidity at all. just the flavor of sweet fresh tomatoes. do yourself a favor and make tracks to krescendo.

The pizza was great. The downsides were not putting us on the waiting list until all 4 of us arrived, the bar tender moving at a snails pace and the pasta tasting awful. I'm thinking they just weren't ready for the amt of customers, following the great write up in the NY Times. I would definitely go again, but maybe earlier in the day instead of dinner time. I'm sticking with the pizza, though. No pasta. Very close to home & convenient, with gluten free crust!! That's a plus!

-The restaurant's policy of not accepting a party to the wait list before they have completed is senseless and disrespectful. -The bartender taking 10 minutes to serve a bottled beer. -The pizza is average by current NYC standards. Unless you want a white pizza, no toppings are available on the menu. -The waitress forgot to put in an order (one out of four!); pizza came out after 25 minutes, pasta came out 15 minutes later and tasted inedible.
