Not the best deal
Why is it that a bagel is 1.00 but the cream cheese is nearly triple the price? It makes no sense.

Greatest Bialy
Kossar's truly has the best bialys in New York City. Growing up here the was only one place to go for a good bialy. Kossar's has thee best bialy imaginable. You can't get a bagel with something on it per se but the selection of cream cheeses and salads they sell in little individual portions are delicious. Try the whitefish salad. It isn't too salty or fishy, it's perfect.

So Good You'll Be Running Back For More!
Anyone that has taken a trip to the Lower East Side and hasnt gone to Kossar's Bialys has disserviced themselves! I live a stones throw away from this fine establishment and have been eating their bagels and bialys my entire life. They offer a wide variety of tasty products from Bagels and Bialys to Onion disks and Bulkas (if you've never had a bulka you should be ashamed of yourself!) They even have LOW CARB bagels for all those people on the Atkins or South Beach Diets. If you wanna trim off a few pounds try a Low Carb bagel - they taste good and they're good for you! I recently saw a television special on the Food Network rating the top ten bagel spots in the city - i believe Kossar's was ranked number 3, Ess-a-Bagel number 2 and the biggest joke of them all H&H bagels was number one. Now if you know anything about bagels you know that H&H bagels taste like crap! How is the number 1 bagel spot in town going to be a chain store? What a Crock! But let me not get side tracked, what it all boils down to is this - If you want a good ole fashioned Bagel or Bialy make the trip to Kossar's take it from me, you wont be dissapointed =)

Mediocre
We live in the neighborhood and we don't buy our bagels here. Yes, they make okay biallys, but the bagels are definitely sub-par: dry, not crunchy, a bit too thick.

Great Bialy's So-So Service
I've grown up eating Kossar's delicious bialys, and just recently began buying their low-carb bagels. There is no difference in taste or appearance between their low-carbs and their regulars. I have tried Low-carb bagels from many different bagel stores, and there is a huge difference. Most low-carbs don't rise. When I asked the grumpy attendant about the carb count, he replied there are only 13g. Why don't they advertise this on their menu?

Overrated
It's true the bialys are great, but this place has poor bagels. First, a good bagel is crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Kossars is neither. The outside is leathery, and the inside is dry. In fact you can see dry spots in the interior of the bagel after you cut it. The also have a subpar collection of spreads. Service is grumpy.
