I visited Klong a few weeks ago and had a great experience. Although the service isn't that great I had excellent food and drinks at a very reasonable price. There aren't many place in NYC where you can get a great entree and spend $10. I loved the unique drinks too. Hip atmosphere. I'm sure I'll be back many more times and I've recommended this place to many people.

I've been to quite a few places for Thai and Klong has captured another regular here with their delightful atmosphere, great-tasting, inexpensive food, and friendly servers (although sometimes hard to flag down). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I ate here for dinner w/ a girlfriend of mine on Saturday night. The atmosphere was great. I had the mussaman curry w/ chicken and that was really good. Now, the water that they gave to us room temperature. I had to ask the waiter to give us some ice and he bought us two new glasses of water with ice in it. We ordered the assorted appetizer plate. It came with the tofu tods, (1) firecracker, chicken & shrimp dumplings and taro rolls. As one reviewer mentioned below the taro rolls were cold. All of these items didn't taste so good. I still prefer the appetizers at Spice, I've never had a bad appetizer from them (I highly recommend Spice but the atmosphere isn't as nice as Klong but all of Spice's dishes taste good). Overall, my experience was ok, I will go there again but only for a main course and for the atmosphere.

As a thai in the city just for the summer, I was craving THAI. For fear of disappointment, however, I was too scared to try anything! But Klong hit the spot. The food is really authentic! The waiters were very attentive and the desserts - I recommend the khao-tom-mud - were divine! The drinks are amazing too - interesting concoctions you won't find anywhere else - try the frost in a bangkok nightmarket and the ruby of siam (the "bartendress" on wed nights is really cute!) plus. The decor is funky - hip - modern. Great date spot. Great for after work drinks. Great for dinner with friends. Recommend: duck salad, seafood salad, and papaya salad. Not too pricey but pricier in comparison to other st.mark's places (which are VERY VERY cheap) it's a little more. Give it a shot and you'll crave another visit.

My friends and walked past Klong in our search for a place with no wait. There was no wait, we were graciously seated upon entering. Our server was attentive, and our water glasses were always refilled. The calamari tempura was very good, I highly recommend the sweet chili sauce (the heat is perfect). The kaori sake is light and smooth, the banana balanced by the muscat grape. Entree choices are great and easily made vegetarian. This is a good place to eat if you like curry and spice. The prices are very reasonable.

When this first opened I went several times & had a lovely time.. nice decor, modern find on St. Marks, friendly staff & great prices. The drinks are strong, plates are big, not to exotic, just regular thai food. HOWEVER -the past 2 times I went were so unpleasant, I will NOT be going back. After we sat down it took our waiteress 20 mnts to come take our order. Our appetizers came out 15 mnts later. Then, we waited 45 mnts for our entrees which were undercooked & 1/2 cold. It wasn't even busy there? After the meal, it took us 1/2 an hour to get the check after trying to flag down workers over & over. Then it took them 20 mnts to bring back the change! We were ther for over 3 hours & barely ate anything, missed our movie as well? Time before that, we waited over 40 mnts for our food to show up & they forgot our iced teas. Not sure what the deal is but they have turned good customers completely off.

Just happened upon this place, thought it looked cute, so decided to try it. I absolutely love the decor/ambience, very modern but comfy as well. I couldn't believe how low the prices were. When I saw the large portions, I was astounded. The food was excellent, everything we tried- we loved, although a bit too heavy on the garlic. Great date place (except maybe for the garlic overload).
