Depressing. Won't be back.
A cozy atmosphere, certainly. I had high hopes when I sat down on the cushioned wall bench and looked over the menu which had the potential for being a place I'd want to revisit, as its Eastern Europe meets the Mediterranean (two serious faves). I decided to go for the Hungarian Goulash (served Polish style, with a potato pancake). Deeply disappointing. The potato pancake was small, very thin, and pretty dry. The goulash was average at best (though I was pleased to see the chef wasn't afraid of the hotter paprika). No bread served with dinner and I had to ask three times for a glass of water (and she still forgot!) Decent selection of Polish and Czech beers. Service: a disinterested, bored, and surly waitress (at least that part is authentic Eastern European). All in all, depressing: the potential is there, but I doubt I'll ever be back.

Very nice spot!
I came to this place about a month ago with my girlfriend, for dinner. The atmosphere is really cosy. Food was unexpectedly good, even if it was more mediterranean than eastern european :) The eastern european touch is definetly the beer selection, so far the best I've seen in manhattan. Service was great, both waitress and bartender were very friendly and helpful. They even offered us to sample a couple beers, as we couldn't pick one ! I would really recommend this place for dinner, and will be back for sure, most likely on a monday night as they have live music and a "2 for 1" ladies night special :)

good laid-back brunch
Watched some world cup here and had a great brunch that was a deal for $13 incl one drink and coffee. (Lots of options; not very Polish, but the smoked salmon & hollandaise were awesome.) Very cozy, clean spot with almost excessively attentive and friendly staff. I'll come back for laid-back drinks. Comfortable bar stools and nice couches/bench. Fun expat crowd. Big flatscreen that you can see from anywhere in the house.

Just the facts -you decide
been there twice. first time, food was mediocre, not really worth the effort of a review either way. there was a game on, it wasn't crowded my friend and i asked if they would flip on the flat screen and they did. flash forward, playoffs a few months later. another friend (of a different ethnicity than the first time) and i are looking for a place to have some late brunch and a beer while keeping half an eye on the game. we walk in there, the place is empty except one two top that is sitting around a sort of elbow from the flat screen. (ie would be no bother to them) we ask if they will turn on the game while we eat and have a beer ... and the response was that we don't allow it... i counter that i had done just that before. we left, but couldn't help thinking that there might be something going on...
