Kittichai is beautiful, but the service is slow and not-so-friendly, and the food is mediocre. There are lots of other Thai restaurants with better food and better service that take 1/2 as long to eat there.

Good Food, Great Dessert, excellent service

Took my boyfriend there for his birthday. I made the RSVP and mentioned that it was for a birthday dinner. The pre-theater set meal was affordable. The organic chicken was slightly undercooked and the chef insisted on completely remaking the entree for us. It was cooked perfectly and the curry sauce was not overwhelming, just right! Our waiter was attentive and personable. At the very end of the meal they brought an extra dessert with a candle on top. I was very impressed by the decor. Good for atmosphere.

    Great food better atmosphere

I went here for the second time last night. All in all the food was excellent. We started off with the beef salad, had the vegetable curry which we asked him to do with eggplant and no broccoli or cauliflower - the chef did a great job with this - the vegetables had great flavors and was not overpowering. We also had the hanger steak which was fantastic - I was not as impressed with the lamb shank but it might have been because we waited until the end to eat that and it was somewhat cold by then...for dessert we had the white chocolate fondue which surpassed my expectations.... I love the atmosphere at kittichai - very zen like, intimate and romantic! Also , if you enjoy thai iced tea - get the thai tea martini - it is excellent!!!

    Happy Valentine's Day

Romantic, Good Food, Great atomsphere, Great Service all lead to one our most memorable nights. The ribs were so yummy, the tuna special with the hot stone was unbelievable, the rib-eye steak melted in your mouth and don't for the dessert..WOW....My lover and I had such a romantic evening we cheerish the memory and the taste.

    Not so hot...

Waited 1.5 hrs even though we had a reservation; crowded. Forced to eat fixed price menu, with many courses of average to below average food with strange tastes. My colleague noted that the chocolate ribs reminded him of murphy's oil soap. Just not that great. A few dishes were OK (sea bass). When we asked halfway through if we could stop the food because we had had enough (some of us were full, others were just not inspired) we were told that we had to finish the order. The dessert was good. That was the only thing. I would not waste the $$. Maybe it would have been different if we'd been able to order and choose...I don't know. Won't be back to find out.

    Fabulous place, average food

I recently had dinner here, and found the space and the service to be above average. The food is presented well, but there was something quite unpleasant about the taste overall. My dinner companion and I had different starters and mains each, and whilst there was nothing wrong with the dishes I felt each was overly sweet or something, and left an unpleasant aftertaste.

had the most amazing lunch here today. everything from start to finish was near flawless. i had the three course prix fixe, and my companion ordered a la carte. i had some kind of marinated cabbage and sweet potatoes. very very good. if i had to get picky, i would say it needed a touch more acid, but close to devine nonetheless. we also shared the vermicelli salad- the texture was perfect and the flavor to die for. this could not have been improved upon. for entrees, i ate lemongrass chicken, beautiful flavor and texture (though it could have been served a little warmer), but i have to say the star on my plate was the rice. never in my life could i have known that rice could be so good. there was some sprinkling of something crunchy on top and again, i was blown away by the texture. my friend had the steak, (which was flank) and it had some sauce that was perfectly piccante and sweet. the steak itself was cooked to perfection. I loved how all courses were chopstick friendly. for desert i had the hazelnut pudding. my only complaint with that is that it was too small. literally, it was like 5 bites. but every bite was perfection. my friend had the tapioca which was delicious, but the hazelnut took the prize. again, if i had to be picky, i would say our server was a little over attentive and while we received every course in a timely fashion, i couldn't help but feel a little rushed- we were out of there in less than 45 minutes- and he was slightly snooty. other than that, the room was beautiful and the chef designed a beautiful menu with fantastic flavors and textures that were properly executed by the cooks. I will definately be thinking about my lunch here for a long long time and will definately return and recommend!
