    Great Disappointment

Saw the reviews online, decided to try this place for myself. The food was mediocre, defintely not worth the price. The service was bad.... Defintely not worth the value, it's really just a lot of hype. The atmosphere was nice though, nice decor.

    Incredible experience

I almost cancelled my reservation after reading these reviews, I am SO glad I did not do so. The zenlike ambiance was the icing on the cake for my party of four. We had a phenomenal experience with the 5 course tasting menu, highly recommend it! Extremely impressive was their abililty to accomadate our 1 vegetarian with not only creative dishes, but her very own vegetarian tasting menu. It was the most incredible, tasty, creative dishes prepared to perfection! They deserve the kudos for making such an accomadation. The 5 course tasting menu, priced at $65/person was a fair price for the large amount of quality food served. If you decide to take this recommendation and try it out for yourself, here are some dishes not to miss- chocolate ribs, banana artichoke salad, sea bass ( best- hands down!), ther mojitos are also notible. Hope you enjoy your experience as well and add some honest reviews to this site.

    Thinking about it

My boyfriend & I went here due to highly positive reviews online. the main dish-pan roasted fish-had to tell the server that they were too salty-it was that bad, it was inedible. The server took it away & came back few minutes later suggesting that I can replace the dish. so my bf chose the crispy whole fish. It came, the chef himself came out to serve it (i dont blame him. i know he take pride in his creations-im sorry, it was really subpar) & 2nd fish was even worse....salty! I am from the southeast asia & fried fish is staple food and a cook myself & my bf backpacked in asian for months & he worships asian food so we know. We did try not show how it ruined the dinner since the people were very nice-the service was superb, nonetheless. The appetizer I have to admit were good-chicken rocks & choc spare ribs and the atmosphere was very nice calming & effortless. But the fish ruined my dinner. I might still go back but would order different ones, for sure =)

    Great food and service

I went there last night with two friends. I absolutely love the atmosphere. The food was also very good, though appetizers better than main dishes in my opinion. The artichoke banana flower salad is to die for. So are the rock shrimp and the desserts. Did not like the seabass too much. Waiters were nice. Will go back

    I enjoyed my experience here

I took my mom here for her birthday, and she pretty much enjoyed her meal. But I was a bit limited because she does not eat fish, so I really couldn't order fish dishes. But everything else was very good. We had an excellent waitress she was so sweet and made our dining experience enjoyable. I loved the desserts. I had the chocolate mousse cake and it was amazing. The only issue I had was with the Hostess, she was very smugged. She had this annoying smirk on her face when she saw me walk in. And as she walked around she kept giving me a dirty look?? Other than that I will go again

    Subpar food

Really. The service was not as bad as people say (many different people serving/clearing our table), and the place is very nice (although loud), but the food was not good at all. The people next to us seemed to agree - they left most of their dishes barely touched. We had the chocolate ribs - ok, not great. The bass tempura was fishy and was all of 4 small morsels. The best thing was the fried rice with the pineapple and chinese sausage - Yum! The king prawns were terrible. I cannot agree more with the people who say the seafood dishes had a fishy taste. One table got something that smelled so bad my date and I almost left. Corwded on a Wednesday, so I guess people are there for the scene. No way they could be there for the food.

    I don't know I loved it here!

I don't know what you are all taking about. I loved it here. The atmosphere was near idyllic. The service was flawless. The food was different, interesting and extremely tasty, well-prepared and beautifully presented. I consider myself fairly picky when it comes to NY dining - always finding one flaw or another to dwell on. Kittichai was so peaceful, its food so delicious - that I'm sort of amazed by some of the negative remarks on Menupages. Well, as usual - to each his own. But me...I'm goin' back!!
