    Overpriced for Average Food

I went to Kittichai for my birthday celebration and found the chocolate baby back ribs disgusting. (it was like eating a brownie with meat stuffed inside) However, my entree meal of lemongrass stuffed chicken was fabulous. the bananan and honey ice cream was ok, but overall I felt the meals were overpriced for such average food. Also the portions weren't that big

Great presentation on food but doesn't justify the price

Our experience was good at this restaurant. We felt the food tasted very good (Vegetarians - You have a limited choice here). The food presentation was excellent. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming (good spacing between tables). This is a pricey restaurant -- which is not a bad thing if this was a fine dining restaurant which it isn't. So we liked the place but felt we were overcharged for the food. On the flip side, the wine bottles markups were lower than I had expected.

    Great Atmosphere!!

We went there on a Thursday and it was packed after 8pm. The ambience was really nice. we thought the appetizers were better than the entrees. I would NOT recommend the chocolate pork. The steak and the duck were good. Service was pretty quick and staffs were attentive. the meal was pretty expensive. I would only go back there for special occasions.

    Exceptional

We went here on a weekday and were seated immediately. The decor was amazing and the food was exceptional. Everything we had was delicious, including the appetizer papaya mango salad and the sides (stir-fried rice and the thai omelette). I would highly recommend this place. The Thai food is unlike other places in New york. I'm definitely going back

    Pleasantly surprised

Live locally and have been meaning to go for years, but only finally made it last night. The biggest surprise, especially after reading the poor reviews below was how good the food was. It was so refreshingly different from the usual drab "NY style Thai" which usually tastes like a poor cousin of chinese food (if that's possible!) The flavors were fresh & surprising, and the servings generous. The drinks were also lovely with fresh ginger, lemongrass & orchids. Funnily, despite the comments below, I thought the interior a bit "midtowny" ie flashy theme-y fitout for corporate types on expense accts.... but smart none-the-less. Definately going back for more!

    ok

went for restaurant week and thought it was just ok. apps were great, chicken was not good, desserts were hit/miss. drinks are fabulous. the service was terribly slow, but the room is gorgeous. would not neccesarily return.

    Amazing

Went to kittichai over restuarant week and had a fabulous time. The decor was gorgeous and the food was perfect. Our waiter took his time explaining the dishes we had questions about and his recommendations were great. Definitely try the papaya mango salad when you go and take your camera for some fun pictures.
