Not worth it
Food was ok. Nothing was really amazing, just ok. I would only have a couple of dishes again. The vegetables kept coming repeated and food was too much for a tasting menu. Not a good value for your meal.

Great cocktails, below average food!
Went with a large party and had a tasting menu. As others have said, the chocolate ribs don't make sense. The food in general was okay to disappointing. And I felt like a sucker for paying so much for food that wasn't nearly as good as a cheap thai restaurant. The best items were the salmon tartar appetizer and the flourless choc cake. The cocktails are original, inspired, and delicious! Conclusion: go for drinks or dessert only.

Amazing food, amazing decor, amazing service!
Went to lunch for restaurant week at Kittichai and was blown away. First of all, most places charge $24.07 for lunch during restaurant week, but apparently Kittichai has a $20 brunch menu year round! Very well priced if you ask me. Decor was stellar. The main dining room has a large pond like area in the center which has floating candles and lily pads - soothing and calming. What blew me away the most however, was the creative use of natural light. You could almost imagine yourself in Thailand. Now on to food - For appetizers my friend and I shared crispy shrimp and corn fritters. Both very delicious. The shrimp was fried perfectly with a chili sauce to die for. The corn fritters also came with a creamy dipping sauce that complemented it very well. For entrees, I had the shrimp and scallop skewers with cashew rice. A little bit too lightly seasoned for my taste but then again I'm a gal who loves big bold flavors. It was still very very good however with an infused garlic taste. My friend had the coconut chicken with sauteed veggies which I absolutely loved. There was something about those veggies that I could not stop eating them. Great portions for lunch too! Not too much - just perfect. For dessert, we had flourless chocolate cake. The presentation on this one was stunning. It came wrapped in a banana leaf which our waiter slowly unwrapped for us one by one. It was pretty good but I kinda wished the cake came with a raspberry sauce or something instead of just cream. Tasted good but needed a little oomph. Last but not least, the service was phenomenal. Not overly cloying but very attentive. Our glasses were always filled and food came quickly at the perfect time only 5 minutes after appetizers. Waiter came to ask us how the food was and was very good about us paying with 2 cards and cash. Oh almost forgot - you MUST have the Thai iced coffee. I was blown away by this one. For only $5, you get three cute little flasks filled with Thai coffee, half and half, and liquid sugar. You also get a glass filled with ice and a beautiful flower - that way you can fill it up and make the coffee exactly to your taste. I really liked that concept and thought they gave me a lot of coffee for only $5. Overall, incredible value for a brunch and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Great to relax in such a beautiful environment with great food and service!

Overpriced for Average Food
I went to Kittichai for my birthday celebration and found the chocolate baby back ribs disgusting. (it was like eating a brownie with meat stuffed inside) However, my entree meal of lemongrass stuffed chicken was fabulous. the bananan and honey ice cream was ok, but overall I felt the meals were overpriced for such average food. Also the portions weren't that big

Great presentation on food but doesn't justify the price
Our experience was good at this restaurant. We felt the food tasted very good (Vegetarians - You have a limited choice here). The food presentation was excellent. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming (good spacing between tables). This is a pricey restaurant -- which is not a bad thing if this was a fine dining restaurant which it isn't. So we liked the place but felt we were overcharged for the food. On the flip side, the wine bottles markups were lower than I had expected.

Great Atmosphere!!
We went there on a Thursday and it was packed after 8pm. The ambience was really nice. we thought the appetizers were better than the entrees. I would NOT recommend the chocolate pork. The steak and the duck were good. Service was pretty quick and staffs were attentive. the meal was pretty expensive. I would only go back there for special occasions.

Exceptional
We went here on a weekday and were seated immediately. The decor was amazing and the food was exceptional. Everything we had was delicious, including the appetizer papaya mango salad and the sides (stir-fried rice and the thai omelette). I would highly recommend this place. The Thai food is unlike other places in New york. I'm definitely going back
