    Subpar cupcakes

I tried the cupcakes tonight and they were so disgusting that even the memory of the first bite into them is making me sick. They tasted and felt as though they were wet. Not moist. Moist would've been delicious. These were heavy (as in their actual mass) and tasteless. They tasted worse than the worst cupcake from a middle school home ec class. Not to mention the service was terrible. I couldn't tell if the girl behind the counter was being sarcastic or rude. Either way, she definitely wasn't funny. Save your money for a place that's worth it.

Cozy, yes, but kid friendly? No.

Kitchenette Uptown needs to expand, and soon. It has outgrown its cramped U-shaped space and desperately needs to look at some other options. Just try to get in the front door on a weekend morning and you'll feel like you just stepped into a downtown #1 train during rush hour. There is almost always a long wait for a table. And it's virtually impossible to arrive with anything in tow, especially a stroller, which is a real shame because the abundant comfort food is perfect for kids. I know, it's Manhattan, but this area is full of families with small children. We like to get out, too!

    Delicious comfort food

I love their grilled cheese. It's huge and delicious. I think it might be made with garlic butter. The turkey chili is also very yummy, especially on a cold day. My only negative remarks would be that it can be very noisy and the tables are very close together. I agree with another poster who complained about the red velvet cake. I found that terribly disappointing the one time that I had it.

    Ok to Mediocore, at best...

Had the crabcakes and mac and cheese- cakes were ok-too many sheels, while the FOUR CHEESE mac and cheese tasted like it was just made with cream....Had the red valvet cake , it shoudl have been renamed to the PINK velvet cake, taste wasn't true to real velvet cake, neither was the color-was just like one big piece of sugar....nothing special... HAve had breakfast there, it has been ok...stay away from the tastelss biscuits, they look good, but no taste to them. All in all this place falls flat, everything looks better than it tastes.

One of the few solid bets in the area

I have no idea what these people are talking about. The food here, by and large, is very good. The brunch in particular is excellent. As far as the delivery complaints, I would point out that this is one of the only decent restaurants around here that delivers at all. The one gripe that I have is that it can be a bit pricey -- $10 for a BLT is just too steep.

    love it

wow! these other reviews shock me because i love this place. i think the food is great and they are one of the only places that doesn't have a problem delivering up into harlem. the service over the phone is great and delviery very prompt. love that everything is homemade. service isn't as good in person, but the place is cute and the food always good.

    sad sad takeout

You would think that from a nice little neighborhood place like this that you could expect some good quality comfort food. However, the fried chicken was soggy, the macaroni and cheese was bland, underseasoned and glopped into the box, and the roasted oven fries were burned and tasteless. The delivery time was prompt, and the prices are reasonable, but that just doesn't make up for the poor quality of food.
