can't wait to return
had lunch this afternoon- chicken soup was delicious served with bagel crisps. Companion had the turkey meatloaf sandwich on rye (each bread slice about an inch thick!) and a side of mash with gravy ( best part!!) Pretty eclectic menu...would definitely return.

Very disappointed
We had heard good things about Kitchenette in TriBecA, so my husband and I went there for a late breakfast a couple weeks back. The waffle I was served was nearly inedible--I didn't even eat a quarter of it. I ate the fruit off the top, and that was it. It was doughy and heavy, like eating half-baked bread, and had very little flavor of its own. I will not go back.

Poor Service & Rude Staff
I have been ordering take out from Kitchenette for years, often a few times per month. Service (and food) seem to be going downhill. Inevitably, they forget something or mix up the order. Tonight I called and asked if they had a particular item. When I was told they don't have the item I said politely, "thanks, I guess I don't want a take out order tonight" and the person answering the phone rudely hung up on me.

even bickering couples love this place
This place has great breakfasts. But seriously how funny is the little exchange between D$ and Prego below!!! Wait to work out marital difficulties over menupages! Dr Phil would have a field day.

Too Expensive
Kitchnette is a nice little neighborhood bakery/diner. Unfortunately, their prices are out of control. The food is fairly good, but the prices are not. I had to stop going here...I mean 14 bucks for French toast and bacon...not reasonable...especially now.

Poor service, mediocre food
Went with my wife today for lunch. Cleanliness of tables in question. No question about the bad service and mediocre food. My wife ordered an omelette with red pepper pesto, artichoke hearts, goat cheese and mushrooms which she liked. She also liked the cheese grits. The biscuits were bready, crumbly and completely forgettable. I had the grilled fresh mozzarella sandwich was ok - bread not toasted enough, a bit greasy, nice fresh mozz. The roasted garlic fries were not good at all. Cold, not crispy at all - mushy, but not in a good way. I also ordered a half order of onion rings and an order of crispy bacon. Unfortunately, when they brought our meals over, they neglected to bring the rings or bacon. In fact, that part of the order never made it to the kitchen apparently. Our server spoke little to no English. After telling them this, they said "right away". 10 minutes and 3 quarters of the meal later the bacon and onion rings arrived...really wish they hadn't. Great batter on the rings...I think...still queasy from all the grease - literally dripping from the rings. The bacon was no better - swimming in grease, soggy, completely unappetizing. When I can't finish an order of bacon, something is wrong. The truth is I have known for some time that Kitchenette is a bit of a rip-off never truly delivering on their promise. Wife had never been and wanted to try it...my advice to those reading this...avoid...

Slow husband shoves his fat mouth
My dim-witted husband loves the LEMON Meringue pie here. Perhaps a little too much.
