This place is delicious and their delivery is quick- I ordered dinner and it was at my door in like 10 minutes.

    Fresh, Amazing Indian Food!

Kismat has by far one of the top indian restaurants in manhattan. I always order Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Saag, and Naan. The lamb is so delicate and fresh, and it's very difficult for many restaurants to cook lamb well. You need to try this place out. If you are planning on eating at the location, it's nice for the prices they have.

Really Solid Indian in the Heights...

...and not only for uptown, but for all of NYC. Baluchis is overpriced and only mediocre. We've been eating in/ordering for three years the service is always top-notch and the food is really great. I've ordered a lot from this menu, and have never had anything I didn't like. The raisin/nut naan is amazing. The dude who titled his review 'Inedible Indian in Inwood' didn't even get the name of the hood right. This is clearly Washington Heights, not Inwood man, and Kismat is a neighborhood staple.

    Inedible Inwood Indian

Clearly the worst Indian food I've ever eaten. This is my first and last time ordering from this restaurant. I ordered the Samosa (mediocre sadly the high point), the Aloo Bengan, Shrimp Malai and Naan Bread. I was shocked at the blandness of the food. I've never put salt on Indian food, but I was really hungry and it was the only way to get it down. The Aloo Bengan was oily and bitter. Only the middle part of the naan (the ends were huge lumpy blobs of dough) was edible. Even the coriander sauce was too sweet. The cabbage that comes with the meal was completely tasteless. Another failure in a neighborhood of culinary let downs. Will someone please open an inexpensive, good restaurant? Our neighborhood is in desperate need of good eats.

    Great, relaxed meal

Went here a few weeks ago with friends and had a nice, relaxing meal. I have always found the service to be friendly and attentive, though on the serious side. The food is very good and the prices are excellent. The delivery service is also extremely fast. I will definitely continue to patronize this restaurant and recommend it for a nice night out that won't break the bank!

    Good food, that's it

Been eating from Kismat on and off for three years now. As long as your order's simple and you get it to go or get it delivered, you're fine. Very serviceable food, especially given there aren't a ton of great options around. Otherwise, the restaurant itself is in need of serious spit-and-polish, and the staff has turned rude indifference into an artform.

Longtime WaHi residents may think this is good Indian takeout but it's below Baluchi's, by far, and certainly not nearly as good as 'good' Indian food you find scattered around the city. UWS has better Indian food, and that's not saying a lot. Tawaa's slightly better, but we need better Indian food than Kismat.
